4TEC has been around since the late 90's:

They tried to make a spec class out of them at the local on-road parking lot club I used to race at but they severely lacked tuning options and rolled around the track like floating turds compared to a proper TC chassis.

If I were to buy a RTR TC for myself today, I'd go with Serpent which is light years ahead of the dated 4TEC geometry:

Think I'm with Bill. Kyosho, hpi or serpent before.

Not sure how to feel with the fan and cooling slots. Hopefully it does better than the 12t.

anything is better than the 12T i have about 20 of um sitting around cause i dont want to throw them away!

I'm thinking of picking one or two up. I'm restoring my xl5 stampede and xl1 rustler. Don't plan on running them.l for that reason.

Pretty bad when they go out on 6 or 7 cel nimh, but my crawler brushed can do 3s.

Yellow xl5 replaces it
Blue water proof xl5
3s hv xl5
No heating xl5

Vxl were tabs soldered into case first.
Next version was out of case followed by the waterproof version, and finally the 4 pole version.

no, i didnt switch to brushless quick enough. all those motors are broke.
