I'm selling my 1/8 scale buggy. It's a Hot Bodies Lightning Pro. The buggy is fun as all heck and it goes like a bat out of hell. It's also tough as nails and hard to break.

I'd be selling all of my R/C's if my son didn't still play with them. I may throw the nitro hawk up on ebay for shits and giggles as my son only uses the duratrax. Anyway, here are the particulars on the 1/8th scale buggy.

Upgrades:

2.7 HP Hyper .21 8-port Racing Engine
130 oz .20 sec (at 6v) hobbico steering servo

Draw backs:

No wing
AM 2ch Futaba Radio
Steering servo isn't top notch but it works very well
The stock pipe has a dinged stinger but works great (a new pipe for this mill is in order anyway)
Body has a small scratch or two.

What do you guys think this is worth?

The engine has 8 tanks of gas through it and I followed the break-in to the T. Nothing is broken and it is in great working condition. I'm getting out of this hobby because it's too expensive and it annoys my wife.

I will most likely be putting it up on ebay, I'm just curious what you folks think it's worth.

The buggy is $350 new and the engine is $165 new. The radio I had laying around, but they are like $40 new.

thanks for any input you can give,
Robert

Dude that sucks! Next time the wife wants some new shoes bring up your RCs. Sad thing is you will probably only get half or a little better than half of what you paid for everything. Your best bet imo would be ebay. People get caught up in the bidding and you may get a decent amount for it. A lot of people a weary about buying used rc stuff though, look at all the problems you had with your used purchases. Anyway good luck, but I would stand up to my wife is she had a fit about my RCs. :wtf:

Oh man I hope you are kidding! Dont leave this hobby! sell the wife sell the car, but keep up with the RC, drive a yugo, eat romen noodles!
Do it for the children, wouldnt u rather they become addicted to RC than addicted to crack!?!?!?! I will not let another bight the dust.

BTW- if u cannot be dissuaded - PM or email me as i am interested in your buggy

I talked to my wife last night. I explained I wanted to sell the buggy. She kind of changed her tune. I think it anoys her but it's an excuse for her to spend more money on clothes when I spend money on R/C. For now, I'm keeping my R/C gear, but that may change.

Thanks for the insight NCNitro. Half sucks but at least I know what to ask if it comes down to it.

Aww C'mon, you were SO proud to get that buggy!

My addiction hasn't really been expensive, I've spent most of my time doing hop-ups.

Really would suck without you rob, you're an inspiration to everyone! From Duratrash to Greatness! :)

LOL aod - i know - rob and i signed on about the same time - and its really neat to see someone advance in this hobby right alons side of me

I dont get it why are you quiting? You just bought the fricking buggy. If you are sucomming to your wifes wishes all I have to say is I hope some day your sack drops out of your tummy. Are you selling them because your tired of them?

lmao at humboldt.

hey rob - i called and asked your wife, and she said that yes, u can borrow your balls for the evening to go rc racing with us, but she needs them back tomorrow.

just kidding man - take a breather - but dont give it up, its a great hobby, and a great way to bond with the kids. ever thought of selling some of ur early rc stuff, and maybe getting a mini-z or a hpi micro for the kids?
