Hi I was just trying to decide what I should do next to my savage. This is what I have now.

Savage 25 ss
-HPI cam tye steering servo saver
-4 spider gear diff mod w/ 60k wheight fluid
-Aluminum clutch pads
-Dual disc brakes
-HPI Large air filter
-Fail safe
-Stainless steal screw set
-2 shims removed from the engine.

I just bash my truck. I do like to do some climbing and jumping.

I'm just trying to figure out what the next mod I should do is. It's fast enough for now. I like performance and reliability mods at this point.

Thanks,
MIke

Think about the Throttle linkage mod. Heard that helps. ALso Talk to MarkAllen here on the forum. He is going to Mod my s-25. Look in the vid gallery if its still there or PM him for the link. He has done BIG things with the savage. Also, Try looking at the savage thread here as well. THere is a Sticcky thread there for the commond mods. Sounds like you have done them. In that savage forum you will find what people have done.

Oh yes we have a great function to help you out. Its up near the top. Click on the search function. Great help for anyone.

Good luck

Jon

With what you have already done, i agree with Jon, the throttle linkage mod would be a great low dough choice. Heres the way I did mine, I think the ofna linkage mod is pretty cheesy, and poorly thought out.

I looked at the ofna linkage mod a while back and decided against it, for whatever reason. NCNitro, would you mind posting a list of the parts that you used and maybe a quick set of steps to do what you did? From the pic, it looks nicely done and probably works well. I just upgraded to a Picco .26(put a nice hole in my stock 25 engine block) and am needing to re-work the throttle anyway. If you happen to have a page/thread already created, that would rock.

I'm thinking of getting the rc solution roll cage for mine...maybe something for you to look at

Just remember that nothing is indestructable. Lots of people have the misconception that if they get the RC-Solutions cage it will be bullet proof. If you land wrong and bend it but your engine survives it did its job. The RC-solutions cage works best with a body to help it slide.

very true....jon2 lol

do a search on the rc solution cage and learn the limitations and positives on it if your thinking about buying

overall i think most would rather have the protection it provides...

I agree with you my friend. Resarch a product if you are looking for protection or just upgrading.

Not much to it.

1 - Dynamite Pro Tune throttle/brake linkage set. #DYN2568
2 - 2/56 linkage rods
1 - 2/56 captured ball end
3 - collets

On the linkage kit the arm is two sided, you will need to cut one side off. I used a pair of diags and then a sanding drum on my dremel to smooth it out.

Pick up an extra rod or too, I screwed a couple up getting the bends exactly where I wanted them. You can get a good idea from my pic though of how to bend them.

I plan on still tweaking it a bit. I want to come up with a better way to hook up the brake rod to the brake arm. But it works much nicer than the stock set up.

Na man thats really clean.. I like that.. Mine works great but Yours is nice.. Right on for the list..!

I've got a question for you guys. While I was driving my stock Savage today, I noticed the front tires weren't getting power. upon inspection, I determined that the front diff had decided that it didn't like me any more, and quit.
Now to my question: since I'm going to upgrade my diffs, is it of any benefit to upgrade to the GPM aluminium diff housings, or is that just another "All show, and no go"item?

PS,
Nitro,
Where in FL are you? I'm near Ft. Pierce, Two Hurricanes in one month, yeehah!

I would do it. I wish they were out when I rebuilt my diffs when my rear one didn't like me anymore. The only ones available at the time I did mine wer the maximizer cups, and at $50 each that wasn't going to work for me at the time. I don't like the weak plastic HPI cups at all, and I will do them on my next rebuild.

Do you mean the diff cups or housings? I'm looking at the complete differential aluminum housing that the gears go into. I can't seem to find them listed anywhere, got any links to where they can be purchased?
So, I take it you're not in S.FL?

Ah,tthank yu very much,ah.
Do you know if they make a big difference, other than weight?

PS.
That's an Elvis "thank yu very much".
