Even with 'waterproof electronics' and rubber sealed bearings, you're taking a chance with water. It WILL get in the bearings.

I have used the following method for the last 15 years, take your tires off then spray your maxx down with WD40 really spray it down good pay particular attention to really greasy areas. Let the WD40 sit for 10-15 minutes then blow it off with an air compressor. All the dirt and grease will blow right off your truck will be left with a very very light coat of oil which is virtualy not noticable, while blowing it off do not blow directly into your bearings as this can force dirt into them. Once your done your truck will look new. While you have your wheels off its a good idea to give your wheel bearings a shot of oil too. Put your your wheels back on and your ready to go, and because you used the oil to clean your truck grease dirt and crud won't stick as easily as it did before.
