i have a savage x 4.6 and i took it in to my local hobby shop and the said they would fix it. they did but they also stripped my stering servo gears. they denied doing it but it worked before i brought it in. they said they would order a new part free. but its been almost 2 monthes and I'm gettin pissed they keep sayin its on back order and making exuses WHAT SHOULD I DO!!! please help
 
Go to HPI's website. Call customer support and tell them the situation. If that hobby shop is an authorized dealer, then they will have to replace it. After waiting that long, I'd demand the XL's steering servo at no extra cost. If you go buy one, they will not pay you back.
 
hearing your story makes me feel very lucky, my L.H.S. has allways given me great service and tony never charges me any labor when i take my trucks in for repairs or service. he also keeps enough spare parts on hand to keep all the gear heads in my area up and running, so my suggestio would be to find a better hobby shop. hope this helps. kdogg
 
You are lucky Kdogg, never seen or heard of a HS doing that. I'd do everything I could to keep that shop open. I was told by my Hobbytown they would help me out for free with my first problems on the BNIB Savage 25 I bought from them...when the time came...nothing!
 
some guys and a woman does that at my lhs but the guy who broke it does not
so some are nice but the manager and the one guy arnt
 
i buy all my parts from tower hobbies u can count on great service.you can also call hpi sometimes if your truck is not ten years old they will replace the part under warrenty.i have a savage that is 4 years old and the front diff gear broke in half hpi replaced it no charge
 
i just ordered a new mill for my savagex, it's a lrp z.28 spec 3. i'm gettin it next week and i'll let you guys know how it preforms, everyone says they're a real beast so i'm looking forward to burning up the track with it. only problem is it just snows and snows and snows here in southern wv. but springs comming and i'm gettin my truck ready. kdogg
