what to do with my Tmaxx?

I wish I had the money for one..I look at it for 10 minutes everytime I'm at my LHS.

you beat me to it..lol.. I was just gonna settle for a .25 but ya had to make em greeedy..lol..


As to make it faster, gotta get a bigger mill. Id suggest doing the big block conversion (XTM makes a badass kit), but if ya want a direct drop in theres a few .18 engines to choose from and I think theres even a .21 drop in.. Is it the 2.5 savage or the .15 pro?

Since I have a bunch of Savage fans in one thread I have to ask the question. Why do you guys hate the T Maxx so much? I got one last August and I love it. Having a blast with it. Tough truck and so far I find it fast and durable. Now it may not be as fast as some, but it is fast enough for me. Hell I have a hard time controling it at full speed. Maybe it is because I am a rookie driver, but at least on my track top speed just puts you farther into the woods. Now I guess if I were drag racing I would put a .18 OS in it. A dude at my local track smokes everything with that .18 in his maxx, including the savages. I know the truck is only 1/10 and not as big as the savage, but what is so bad about the Maxx? It is not the best selling truck of all time for nothing. Not at all bashing anyone or there opinion, I guess I just want to know why folks don't like the Maxx anymore. My 2.5 is great. Once I replaced the cooling head I have no problems tuning that little 2.5. In my opinion if you want to go fast on the track get a buggy. Thanks guys, like I said I am not bashing anyone or there opinions, I just wanted to get an honest answer about why there are so many Maxx haters out there. With as many people that bash the maxx on this forum you would thing the truck is junk. All trucks have there good and bad points. Take care guys.

I hate the t-maxx because every minute of wrenching i did i had 1 secound of drive time. The savage its oppisite.
 
Really. Man see, I have quite the oposite. What seems to go wrong with yours? Mine runs all day. Now I don't fiddle with it much as far as major adjustments. I have installed hop ups and made a few adjustments but out of the two nitros I have I get more run time out my Maxx than any other. I see guys having trouble with there maxx's at the track but that is because they made some huge adjustment to the mill and can't get it to stay running. Other than that I have seen no real problems. When you say wrench, what kind of stuff have you done to your maxx?

My Maxx was the most consistently running RC I had too....my problem is I took it apart, cleaned it, had a friend reseal the mill and now it sits in a box in peices cause I got into buggies and have no urge to play w/ the maxx...shame cause it's really a sick little MT.....
 
Hey Plaid, I will :cheers: to that! I mean it's cool that others like different RC's its like Ford vs Chevy, you could argue for hours. The sad thing is people I am sure have lost there lives over that arguement! The Maxx is a pretty sick ride that's for sure. I beat the hell out of that little MT and it comes back for more. I just don't get why its so hated. It does have its faults, but what MT doesn't?
 
I have a pretty nice maxx too, but the radio is glitching like crazy, and i dont have that kind of time to mess with it! I want to drive it so bad, but i can't find the time!
 
If you replace everything except the wheels, bumper mounts, servo mounts, and tranny case they're really nice...

i had 1 stock.... and the other was all alumium ..... i got it from 4u2nv .... i like the maxx more then the savage 21 .... and the maxx was faster ... then it lol i had a lot of people race at my track ... with rc10gt and evader st nitro nitro sport se and so on ... and the maxx beat them all like nothing ... thanks curtis

Me too! :hammer: I need drive my maxx, and with all the money i put into it, i have been wanting to drive it so bad!!!! Guess i can't at the moment, because we are getting a little rain now! Maybe this weekend i'll try to get it going!
