What the hell would have caused this.

Ok i am so pissed off i was running my maxx and all of a sudden the engine just stopped i was like what the hell. Then the P/S wouldnt work so i took it off and apart and the string was all bound up and poop. and the one-way was locked up and stuck and i mean STUCK on the crankshaft it even wore a very small amount from the shaft. It was stuck so bad after about trying for 45 to get it off i said fiddlesticks it and i threw the one way in a vice put a chisle on one end and pushed up on the head on the other with my hand with all my might and all of a sudden pop off it comes and the engine flying across the room (lucky its carpeted). And it works when it half way on the shaft but then it just locks up again when you put it all the way down. What the hell happened? And this is a new one-way too only about 5-7 tanks on it does traxxas have a warrenty on it i mean i just spent freakin $25 on the stupid thing? and think the warrenty will be viod because the exterior of the bearing is a lil beat up from trying to get it off the freakin shaft?

ok well i cleaned it a few times and smacked it against my work bench now it works then i sprayed it again and it locks up then i sprayed it a few more times and it spins fine. What poroblility do you guys think itll happen again? Do you think i should soak it in soapy water because there might be something in the bearing?

that would be my guess is that something got into the bearing maybe dirt or something and it was getting caught on it.

I believe your oneway cracked, its not going to work corrrectly again, you are going to have to get a new one, which sucks.

what do you mean by "CRACKED"

and i dont believe its the one-way i believ its the one-way shaft that is screwing things up if i can get a good pick of it ill show you its hard to see.

i dunno it seems to work good now i slightly sanded down the bearing shaft and cleaned it off and i sprayed the bearing a bunch of times and blew the inside out with around 2000psi. from a scuba tank if it gives me probs again i guess ill just get a new shaft and bearing. Ill have to try it out tomarra after i get home from work if its still light out.

are u using a grease to lube the shaft before u put the one way bearing on? Maybe one of the rollers in the one way bearing is screwed up. whu did u have to but a new one ne ways?

i had to replace it because it was old and was on my 2.5 for a while and it would constantly slip. No i didnt put grease on it i thought i was always supposed to be dry? I'm going to buy a new beaaring anyways i think just to make sure. Theres another $25 down the drain lol.

ur suppose to grease the shaft, or lube it, so the starter shaft doesn't get wore down. that could be way ur one way bearing is slipping.

Like STi said, it's a Traxxas product. If you own a T-Maxx, be prepared to spend lots of money.
