What problems have you had with your T-maxx? I've had tuning issue problems but hope to get that resolved on my next tank. I'm just curious as to know what other problems exist others have experience.

weak arms but replaced with RPM ones. I also removed the EZ start and went with the pullstart but if you like the EZ start I would remove the blue wire and get an external battery to light the plug. Weak servo but replaced with a 645 MG and 6v Hump and that problem went away. Bulkheads !! those were weak so I recommend getting aluminum ones. I am not a fan of Aluminum but those I would get.

My engine did get hot but I sealed it got a Hardcore Mutant head and bye bye to over heating.

Does the t-maxx have more problems/need more upgrades overall than any other MT outthere?

Not sure on that as I have not had a lot of MT's.

I had problems with the shock towers and bulkheads, but after i replaced those, it was fine. I also didnt like the stock shocks. I didnt get a chance to break any stock a arms, because i replaced them with rpms before i did anything serious. I didnt strip and gears, i guess i replaced all the gears with hop ups before i broke anything. I did have problems with the plastic sliders, so i replaced them with cvds. Of course, the stock cooling head got thrown out for an acncm head.

ime t-maxx doesn't take abuse well.. its like this.. buy a t-maxx and dump some $$ in it on t-6 aluminum parts and you got a tough truck... or.. buy a savage.. thats what the lhs guy said lol.. i got a savage and my bashin buddy got a maxx.. his breaks WAY easyer than mine does.. bulk heads are the worst.. and the shock towers.. basicaly if you break it replace it with aluminum.. it wont break again (at least it shouldnt)

Well my opinion on aluminum is if you have too much and you crash it tends to be so strong that i will bend rather then break off and may bend or damage other components.

How long will the engine last before you have to replace it?

Depends on how loften you run it and how ell you maintain it. Do you use After Run Oil? Do you let the engine's Piston cool at Bottom Dead Center? Do you use the proper type of fuel? DO you run it too lean a lot? These will determine the life of your engine....unless you physically break it.
