What is the difference between the stock shocks and the big bore shocks??

The traxxas big bores are build better with alloy bodies, TiNi shafts and I'd assume larger bore that the piston slides in for a more consistent shock feel and to help minimize temp changes in heavy use.

What Olds says sounds right on point. They do handle a lot better with the increased shock volume. I would say they are a good upgrade.

They are almost a must have if you have the cash. I got mine on the bay for about thirty bucks, so look there first.

The stock shocks constantly pop caps, bend shafts, leak fluid and just generally suck. I haven't had a single problem with the big bores. They are MUCH smoother also.

If the piggy backs your referring to are integy, then I'd definitly suggest against them. Leaky, easy to bend, soft alloy that strips out and pops apart. They look nice though, but not durable by any means.

There was a company that made some killer piggy backs back in the day, progressive racing or something like that. Expensive, but pretty much the best you could buy. Hard to find anymore.

Stick with the big bores. They will be money well spent.

Traxxas Big Bores offer the best bang for the buck IMO.

I actually prefer the clip style pre-load adjustment of the Traxxas Big Bors over the threaded collars a lot of the others use. Easier to keep clean and the collar can't creep up during a race from vibration which keeps handling consistent.

Thats acutally a pretty good price. My LHS still has em priced at 99.99. If it wasn't for tower's stupid shipping prices....

I'm pretty sure they charge you 10 bucks to ship a glow plug, don't they?

All "Parts Express" items at Tower have a standard $4.99 shipping fee.
