I am looking for a new cooling head for the 2.5 engine. What I have in mind are:

1) Powerline (reasonable price)
2) Golder Horizons (reasonable price)
3) Nova (Lil bit more expensive)

Any suggestions ?

I am going to use mccoy/OS 8 and 59 glow plugs.

I don't know if it is "the best" but I have a GH cooling head on my 2.5, and like it. Still likes to run about 260, but that is alot better than the 280+ it used to run. I currently use an OS A3 plug.

I second the Mutant Head. Got it for my 2.5 and love it.

Nova fan here! I have a Nova head on every engine I have. S-25, 2 Wasp's .26, and the Kanai Evo II! If I were to ever switch to any other head I would have to go with CNR. Lifetime warranty, no questions asked. Well worth the extra loot!

ACNCM.......American CNC Machining. They make some incredible heads at great prices. Check out their site. I bought one through a forum member here a few months ago, and now everyone at the local track has gotten rid of the stock head for the 2.5 and gotten ACNCM. Even the LHS at the track started stocking them when he saw what a difference it made on mine.

I dont post very often but I've a lot of experiance with trying to keep the 2.5 cool, I tried almost all the after market cooling heads Powerline, Golden Horizons, Nova American CNC, I even had a friend of mine make a huge custom head since he works at a machine shop and is able to get his hand on a cnc machine, they all helped but the motor always ended up over heating half way through the second tank, I can honestly say by the time I totalled the cost for al the cooling heads I tried I would have been able to buy the sirio I now have in mine, in my modest opinion, save your money and go for a different motor, I can run consecutive tanks through the sirio without worrying about over heating the added power from the bigger engine also makes it a lot more enjoyable time... just my 2 cents!

You had another problem in the car if you were still overheating. Either a tuning issue with the LSN, or something as simple as a tight part of a sticking bearing. None of the Tmaxxs with the ACNCM heads run over 240. A few weeks ago, mine stalled and I did a temp reading and got 305. A bearing in the diff had started to seize, and that was the cause of the overheat.

I have bought one from ACNCM for my Picco P2. It is nice but too big. I have to recut the vent hole on the body.
