I know we've been asked what the worst damage to our tmaxxes was, but I want to know what is the worst pounding you have put your tmaxx through and had it live with no broken parts?
I was running mine in the pits the other day (even though I'm still having stalling issues) and was just about to the top of the pit wall when I hit a washout and my tmaxx rolled end over end probably 40-50 feet down the hill bouncing off rocks and coming to rest on all 4 wheels still running and ready to go (only to stall at high rpm's). I was very surprised that nothing broke, this truck hit really hard a couple of times and flipped in the air numerous times between ground strikes. Impressive and it's a stock 2.5 tmaxx!!

Several years ago when I got my first nitro, a .15 Tmaxx, I didn't like the way it handled high speed turns coming down the driveway. The early Maxxs had a very high and narrow stance. My neighbor and I decided to strap down the suspension with Zip ties, and see how that worked.
After a few test runs, a little faster each time, I came ripping down the driveway, and while sliding through the turn, hit a small dip.
Well, since there was no suspension travel left, it went airborn and cartwheeled sideways for close to 30 feet, NEVER hitting the lawn, but banging on the asphalt where the sick sound bounced back from the house. My neighbor said he counted 7 really bad shots to the pavement while it spun through the air.
Not only was this the worst beating it ever took, but it was also its' first.
It landed on its' roof, still running. My neighbor set it on its' wheels, I drove it slowly back to me, and found absolutely no damage other than body scratches.
The next day I upgraded to the ProLine low/wide A arms, and less than a year later, the low, wide stance was stock.

I think the worst pounding I have put mine through was both times I was running it on pavment. I was going full tilt one time and it got squirly(sp) and barrel rolled it at least 20 times down the road, then end over end a few times comming to rest in the neighbors yard still running. The second time I was doing some high speed runs and hit a rather large round rock that was hidden in some grass at the end of a driveway.. this also sent the truck cartwheeling end over end down the pavement. Other than some dents and scratches in the body, and a lost body pin all was well. The Tmaxx will take a beating.. unless you are jumping your house or off the roof it holds up well.

Drove mine under my parked car crashing into the inside of the wheel well. Result; Bulkhead broken, 2 a-arms broken, 4 bent shocks, bent bulkhead pins, broken shockrise, cracked front skid plate. Launched off STEEP ramp, (12-15 ft jump) broke chasis braces.

30 ft. triple missed the landing and stuffed it into the 4x4 fence post to the side of the track......I've stuffed my last 3 buggies and my maxx into that post, all drove away with lil or no damage......they finally took it out last year....but they also took out the huge triple jump it was next to as well.....

i had a fully aluminum maxx. running a Picco 21Maxx, with a MIP MaxxPipe take on a Mail Box Post at Full Tilt! the mail box was one of these green Rubbermaid mail boxes.

Dagage to Maxx. two broken front bumper mount screws and a very slightly bent front AcncM Bumper.

Damage to the MailBox. corner piece broken out of it.
3 inches on each side of the corner and about 20 inches up the post... lol

My T-Maxx lived through about $2000.00 worth of upgrades before it quit braking every time I took it out.

It now lives in a dismembered state scattered around the world.

In a simple word... NOTHING!

1st time out.. new out of the box... no clutch

2nd time out (30 minutes run time)... lost a screw from my bell crank, drove into the patio. Good thing the valance wasn't sturdy!

3rd time out (15 or so mins)... broke the left rear turnbuckle

4th time out (1 hour run time).... broke the engine mount and lost a couple of teeth on my spur gear

5th time out. (Little over 1 hour)... broke the Rear Center Drive Shaft

6th time out (this past Friday). (an hour or so).... "THE" gear in my steering servo broke off.

I've never had to stop and change my air filter because I ran too long. The damn T-Maxx broke before I had a chance (Must be a safety feature). I'm starting to get really annoyed with it breaking EVERY time I bring it out. So far my personal opinion about the T-Maxx is that it's a piece of manure.

first nitro was a t-maxx..didnt run it through a break in procedure, ran it hard, fast and hot. broke a drive shaft within 2 hours of having it out of the box.

lasted 3 gallons, and i broke every single part it had besides tranny internals.

biggest money pit i've ever owned

Breaking turnbuckles is one thing, I've broken Lunsford Super duty's on my XXX on the track; but breaking an engine mount?!? You gotta try to do that. Losing screws? Basic maintenance prevents that. I don't remember breaking anything other than a pair of shocks and the stock plastic skids on my maxx when it was stock. My e-maxx was tough too considering what I put it through. I broke a pair of bulks and a pair of shocks when I lawn darted a huge double on the track while screwing around and running sections of the track in reverse (because I could). If you beat the crap out of it, sure it will break. Anything will.
