1 Gallon Byron Race 30% Nitro

1/2 Gallon Byron 25% Nitro (used for running in)

how much did u get it for?

30% is also alot of Nitro. Your engines life will finish pretty fast i would go down to 20% nitro..

sounds like you got a nice setup man. should be a tough rig. the only week spot i see is the radio system. if you race you may have interference on an am system. and i dont see where the servos were upgraded. a high torque servo makes a BIG difference..

post some pics!

yea its hopped up with some good add ons. i would check those servos though, it will make it handle so much better

whats the engine like? anyone got any info on these engines? and i guess the wheels are going to be harder to get than standard ones right?
Thanks!

The engine is a gamble as all STS engines are.
I have had 4 STS engines.
First one was a stock .28, great engine.
Second one was a lightly modded STS30 Rev. 1. It was untouchable in a drag race. Good engine really finicky to tune, but worth it. It killed drivetrain parts quick. I LOVED IT! See the vid I posted in the video forum.
My 3rd and 4th were RB Mods. One was a 5 port .28 truggy engine. It was a P.O.S.
It was completely untuneable and only ran good for one or two sessions. It would not make an ounce of power until 260F, then it would vapor lock at 270F.
The Other was a RB Modded .30, it too was a P.O.S. It leaked around the sleeve and block and had way too much pinch. It refused to break-in and finally cracked the piston after 3 gallons of running at 220F. This was a Rev. 2 engine.
STS made two versions of the .30. My first one was Rev. 1, it had almost no pich when I took it out of the box. It ran liked a raped ape for 5 gallons!!! Go figure.
The Rev. 2 .30 came about because so many people got the first version of the STS .30 with no pinch. So they tightened up the pinch, reinforced the sleeve...... and killed all the performance.
Nothing wrong with RB Mods. But when you polish a turd...... Rick would have warrantied both my engines but I was too pissed to mess with them anymore. 500 bucks + 6 gallons of wasted fuel between the two.
STS carbs like to leak at the HSN housing crushwasher, all 4 of mine leaked there. The LSN O-ring wears out quick. Keep an eye on it.

not what i wanted to hear :p Thanks for the warnings tho. here is a few pics. it needs a new body in not too happy with the baja thing.

I think you came up on this one personally. The mods alone are worth it. Eventually, most everyone will want to upgrade the wheels and tires, engine and such. It is a great package. Take heed to the warnings about the servos..

Very nice ride, I hope your engine works out for you.
Patience and heat will be your two best friends breaking that puppy in.
Plan on it taking a gallon at a minimum of easy driving to break in. Preheat it to at least 180f on every cold start. These engines feel like they hydrolock as soon as fuel gets to the piston.
Follow the manual if you have it. Also call Rick at RBMods if you need to. Great guy, he helped me as much as he could on he phone.

the guy said its got upgraded servos. it seems theres alot of money put into other parts so i think the servos should be good. just gotta wait for delivery. fancy a guess at what i paid for it?

This stuffs alot harder to find in england. well theres internet so its easier to find stuff in America now but theres alot of people that dont like selling overseas. iv had stuff sent over from America and postage might have been like $50 on a small item then we have got car parts sent over they weigh like 5X as much and are alot bigger and postage is like $30. (we have a garden full of old American cars).

Common sombody try guess how much i have in the Savage. how much would you think its worth? :p

got it for 210 gbp(i think thats just over 400 usd now) its cheap for over here. engine wud cost that alone pretty much. then when I've looked at price of other parts and there seems to be alot more in it than what i payed. guy i got it off said he had spent about 800 gbp on it through the time he has had it. but engines new and theres lots of new parts with it. its a believable price for over here.

Yep, that engine is 250 USD.
He easily spent 800 on it.

Now why can't i get luck like you! i love that body!

if i end up getting a savage would you consider selling the body to me?
