It just spins when I try to take it off

The only nut you should have is in the pic in the link above look at the one for the stmapede its #4144 the clutch bell rides on bearing s that rind on the clutch nut that holds the flywheel on. The clutch bell is held on with a e clip not sure I know what you mean. X

Hold the flywheel with a rag and try to losen it that way. If the Flywheel spins when you hold the nut then pull off the pull start flip the one way bearing and put a wrench on the one way. X

X didn't mean the clutch bell, I mean the fly wheel sorry and it doesn't spin. I'll try putting a rag on it and doing it that way thanks.

Do you have a piston locking tool? If not, (dont hold me responsible for damages) you can use the end of a toothbrush and cover it with a thin, soft cloth. Then, insert the toothbrush into the opening where the header would normally be while the piston is down. Then, SLOWLY, while keeping the flywheel still (a flywheel wrench is best) try taking it off.

I use the piston locking tool by Durratrax and it works well. Only had to use it once, but no damage.

If this doesn't work, chances are you could have a broken con rod. Hope not :(

The other possibility is that the flywheel has simply come loose. Without applying any serious pressure, does the flywheel spin freely on the shaft without spinning the clutch nut? If so, then you need to follow X's directions to remove the clutch nut...or you could try Christian's method, but I believe that X's method reduces the risk to internal damage to the engine.

The flywheel is FAR from loose, IT WON'T SPIN at ALL no spinning I got the engine for free and its just an engine tell I can get the 2.5 conversion kit.

OK if the fly wheel is not turning you take a chance of scuffing it up but it should stull be operational. You can take you rag put it on the flywheel and get a pair of channel locks and then hold the flywheel with the channel locks while you try and loosen the nut. That is considering you dont want to flip the one way bearing.

I am not saying this to be a jerk but you are trying to loosen it correct? you should be turning you wrench counter clockwise.. Just making sure. X

LOL X yeah I'm not trying to tighten it, and I no how to loosen

Well if you end up in a situation where you just can't stop the flywheel from slipping then yes. This is a strongly debated option though. Some people state that piston locks will damage the piston. Although I have had no problems I guess others have. Could be misuse as well. I found that having these two tools though has saved me a ton of grief! The flywheel wrench on the left is by Racers Edge, the screwdriver/pistonlok/glo caddy combo is by Durratrax and the Flywheel wrench on the right is by OFNA.
