what can i use

I would like to make my 2.5 tranny stronger what do u guy think i should use who makes to best gears or is it better to order a 3.3 tranny and if so will it fit

I'm pretty sure a 3.3 tranny will work just fine with the center shafts from a 2.5R or short chassis 3.3. You may want to wait for a response from the others first. Robinson makes high quality gears, but not worth it on a black trans IMO.

I put a 3.3 trans in a 2.5, just had to play with spur gear and clutch bell sizes

With a foc, my tranny has held up flawlessly. It really got pounded this summer when I put in an OS .18.

The Robinson Racing is some pretty good stuff however it does at a lot of rotational mass to the truck. If you are running a stock engine personally I would not even bother. Go with a forward onlt kit and you really should be good. I never ran metal gears in my Maxx until I went with a BB engine. Seriously just do a forward only conversion and you should be good to go!

You won't be able to use your stock center shafts with a 3.3 trans, but you can change one yoke on each one and they'll work. I would just get the foc tho.

thanks for your help I'm pretty sure i stripped the gears for foward because it only goes on way that rev. lol i think ill order the gears and a foc thanks for the help
