Hi, Could you guys tell me what C rating should I use for my rc plane to be the most efficent and fast?

Most C ratings are inflated, just go with a Liperior or CNHL and you'll be good to go.

...or Hobbyking's batteries, but not the cheapest stuff.

C rate has 2 meaning ..1st is short term as for Burst its the maximum the battery can put out usually a few seconds the other is long term till battery hits its lvc you will use. that's the major 1 the more mah the longer battery will run 4..not extra boost from a battery ..motor is the power esc regulates its rated max power.. that's all

There are no bad effects from running a higher C rating, the system will only pull what it can handle. Too low of a C rating and things are either sluggish or won't run at all. Most electrics RC planes recommend 30C unless your running a large hopped up system that requires a lot of power.
