i was given an old .15 and have been reading on it and messing with it for the past few days and still can't get it to fire. i put the carb to factory settings. the main issue i'm having is i keep melting the windings on the glow plug. been through 5 in 3 days  and i'm about to loose it. i clearly don't really know what i'm doing but i'm trying. anyone have any ideas of what's not right or what i'm not doing correctly.
thanks for any help in advance

You're melting the coil in the plug, so it is running a little? That's usually a lean problem. Is there much smoke when it runs? Raw fuel spitting out the pipe? Idle real high?

Really need more info, my first thought is to richen it up,back the hsn out some.

Take the engine a part and seal it. I wouldn't do another thing to it until it sealed. There's a lot of info on this site about how to do it.

Need more info. How are you melting plugs if it isnt running?

no never ran. it kinda of spit and acted like it may want to run at first but it was also coughing fuel back up the carb then too so i set all the screws to oe setting and is no longer over fueling. the plug itself is not fried just the small windings inside it melt and create a gap instead of a winding if that makes any sense

i will try that

thanks

The coil is the filament, and it is the ONLY thing that goes bad in a glow plug. If it never runs or sputters, I would suggest taking off the head and making sure there is nothing in the cylinder that's bouncing around and hitting the new plug. If pieces of the filament are missing, they are still inside where they can do some serious damage to a cylinder wall.
