My son and I are off this week so we went on a short camping trip, the park is only 15 minutes away but we had blast! We did a little fishing, caught a few small ones but nothing to brag about. We went for a hike on one of the many nature trails and just took it easy!

That looks like a great place. I love the bear print pic.

No rattler for super but we did grill steaks! The snake was crossing the road at the wrong time and I ran over it.

Rob I got pretty close for the pic and that might be why it looks bigger than it really is, while we do have black bears in our area that print is from a very large coyote, they have all they can eat here and get very big!

Your alot shorter than I imagined. :D

Looks like a blast! Is that a river, or a swamp, or what? Any time I drove home from Houston, I was always fascinated with the swamps, I just think they're cool looking with the cypress and such.

This is Chicot State Park, we call it a lake but it's more like swamp/lake just depends what part your in.

Gotcha. I drove over the Athchafalaya swamp many times coming through Louisiana. I would have freaking killed to get out there in a boat and do some fishin'. Being born and raised in the mountains, pretty much any natural stuff that we don't have is always fascinating and intriguing to me. I'm all about anything outdoors.

I know how you feel, I went to Bristol Tenn and couldn't get over how cool the mountains were LOL

We love going camping and visiting parks like what you and your son visited.
Looks like a blast!

Great shop of the swamp pond or whatever that be, looks like a great place to go scalin too! Nice, bet it was fun, that rattler was pretty aged for how many buttons are on its tail. 1 button=1 year, looks to be about 12-14 years old which is rare to see a snake with a full set of buttons on its tail, very cool!
