My LHS here decided it was time to partake in a new business venture. That means no more LHS for me. They're selling industrial lawn mowers now.

Kinda sucks because the closest shop now is an hour drive away.

I guess he decided to do it all in one day, they leveled the track, put away all the merchandise, and basically told the guy working the place to get bent as far as a job was concerned.:thefinger

Oh well, I guess I'll have to start shopping here now.

My old hobby shop was called "Peterson Hobby and Well drilling"..lol.. Not suprisingly the hobby part closed and its just "Peterson Drilling" now..

That's basically how it happened. He started selling guns on one side of the shop, and hobby stuff on the other side.

Now, it's guns, and lawn mower stuff.

Dude, buy a gun from him and a mower. On the day you pick up the gun, drive through the front of the store on the mower guns blazin' yelling obsenities and tell him he ruined everything and now he must pay! Or ask him to sell you whatever he had and open your own shop!

Just kidding on the first part, I don't condone violence!:devious:

The thing that is stupid is that he won't sell anything having to do with hobby stuff whatsoever. I asked him if he wanted to sell any of the fuel, or a particular part that no other LHS carrys.(storm part)

"No, I'm just going to sell it all together." I'm not screwing around with it anymore."..... then goes on about not making any money in the hobby business.

You have to be careful with this type of statement, Mountain Dew burns when it comes through your nose.

I feel your pain, the closest HS is an hour for me too

If it makes you feel any better; I've got one LHS that is expensive and won't cater to anything but the top-end racers, one that knows their stuff, but will never order what you need and prefers planes, and one that just knows and deals in traxxas only.

The nearest shop for me is about 60 miles away that knows anything, and that's a Hobbytown. After them, another 10 miles on top of that, is a hobbyshop that is perfect; but they're closed Sunday-monday.

That's why I come here to learn and research, then off to places like tower and ebay (or buy off fellow members, if the item is in good enough shape).

If I had a good enough LHS; I would support it.

Man busted,That suck's,You can have all 5 of my lhs,Since they all stock the same products, and a good majority of there inventory sucks the big one.

My "local" hobby shop is a Hobbytown USA dealer in the back quarter of a watercraft/atv dealer. They're 70 miles away and NEVER have the parts I need. There is only one guy who works there that even remotely knows anything about R/C stuff.
The second nearest one is about 3.5 hours away, and although the guys there are really helpful and knowledgeable, they're 3 and a half freaking hours away. So yeah, I do most of my buying over the internet also. If I need a stock Traxxas part, i'll call the one thats 70 miles away and so far I've had about a 30% success rate with them having the part. Fun Fun

Only one I'll deal with is over an hour away. I try to buy from him as often as I can. Hell of a nice guy. Doesn't try to jerk you around like the one right here in town.

Most of mine is on line.
