well iam almost done done with 5 tanks of gas for my picco .26 once i hit 5 can i start leaning her out a bit and see how much power she really has or should i keep breaking her in after the fifth tank?? :read:
 
hey pissant..I'm actually around the step as you. i idled thru 4 tanks 2 weeks ago...1 tank last weekend...let it run rich at half throttle thru another tank around the parking lot. it's sounding mean so far in first gear but i'm keeping it rich this weekend to be on the safe side.
 
so when would be a good time to start hearing her scream??? should i run it rich 2 more tanks?? :naughty:
 
You should be able to start thinking about leaning the engine out now. Five to six tanks is about all most of these engines will take for a break in. Depending on how well you broke the engine in, that number could creep up to a few more tanks. I remember El Pirata's first .21 engine. He broke it in by the book and it still took almost another half gallon before the thing actually broke itself in and was ready for prime time.

I would say you can try and tune the engine now. Take your time and do it in small steps. Do not be surprised if it takes you two or three tanks to find the engine's sweet spot.
