Looks like a very nice weld bro.

Nice man, I can't tig weld to save my life. I used to have certs on horiz. and overhead for stick welding

Looks good.

Right up there with the guys who have been doing it for years at my company.

Thanx guys, i'm waiting for my stick welding test results to come back, i know i passed so as of tuesday i am a D1.1 Certified Structural Plate welder (unlimited thickness)

I went to school for welding, but when i finished I came across other options that ultimately landed me exactly where I am now.. nowhere.. I should get back into it again

do it man, theres nothing wrong with going back to school

yeah, i'm actually trying to wait for my better half to finish school so I can quit my job and go during the day.. I have a lot going on in the evenings. She's all about me quitting and never working again... but Id go nuts.

looks good.

most insane welds i have ever seen were on a crane barge. The crane was rated for 2000 tons and some of the structural stuff was incredibly thick with pass after pass of weld.

FLM i know exactly what you are talking about and thats the stuff i am certified to do

cool deal. You could get dizzy looking at all the passes. lol.

I would look into pipeline welding if you are single. The jobs jump state to state but the pay 60-70 an hour.

oh i know pipeline pays a lot, but i'm not single, i have a wife and baby girl so pipeline stuff would be no good for me at all

its all good then. you can still make decent money. I have seen some sweeeet welding shops too. Actually the guys that work for us are all in climate control and they have their own stations, super clean work areas etc. They are moving to robots for most stuff but they still do a fair amount manually.
