Haha when I read the op's original post I knew right off the bat it was the fuel tank.
It's an EXTREMELY uncommon problem, so it's not as simple to diagnose as you did after the problem was already solved. We'll see how you do in future threads.

"Haha"? How about showing a little courtesy to the posters above who have many, MANY years of collective experience between them. We'd like to see you play well with others.

Okay Guys, Relax and calm down!
No need to flame!

I did take everyone's advise, it's just that some of the advise given, I already tried before I even posted this.

And I did indeed test the fuel tank for air leaks, and found none.. yet it was still the fuel tank.. So who the hell knows, i looked all over the old fuel tank, and I still can't find whats causing the issue.. But it was indeed the fuel tank that is causing the issues.

So idk, the old fuel tank *looks* to be in good condition. No air leaks, nothing blocking any of the inlets, so hell if I know!

I guess this just goes to show that "looks can be deceiving".

man id love to send one of my cars to you'se you'd probably find and fix problems i amn't even aware of being a problem, I've got a hpi rs4 nitro that overheats like nobody's business i just always assumed it was how it will run if your burning donuts and doing 40kph saloms around the carpark. in fact i even have a video.
i have noone locally to turn to about these things. i literally get all my help in text. so what a good motor sounds like, what a bad bearing sounds like, four-stroking shifting gears. i am at a loss to know what any of those behaviours sound like!:hehe:
my philosophy is if it runs it runs if it overheated you have a smoke and go again. push piston down and put afterrun oil in and put it back in the booth and head home.
after reading these forums i begin to wonder how many problems there are on my car. I'm sure I've seen air bubbles in the line at one stage i shall be checking my fuel tank!
can someone tell me if this car sounds ok

It sounds good and you're leaving a good smoke trail.
Do you have enough air getting through to keep it cool?
If you can't keep it from overheating, you might want to richen your LSN slightly and take a minute or two to warm it up before you run.
If you can start up cold and take off quick, you're usually a little too lean. Your HSN seems fine.

richen the lsn 1/8 turn yeah?
it never starts up cold or in 1 pull usually have to leave the glow in it for 40 seconds and warm the inside up and then give it a few tugs then get it to idle up to temp before it can do anything without conking out. probably hard on the glowplugs but its the only sure fire method that works. temps here average 12 deg C

Does it idle for at least 1 minute without stalling?
If not, then you either have an air leak, or your LSN is too learn.

Do you have to fight with it to get it to start & idle from a cold start?

At the end of the video, I'm going to assume the engine died due to overheating?

Do you see air bubbles in the fuel lines all the time? Sometimes when the fuel gets low, it's normal to see bubbles.

Try cutting a hole in the windshield to get air flow to the engine.

I always run my engine a little on the rich side, just to extend the life of the engine.

Well you answered some of my questions.. I guess i'm too slow lol.

Yeah, that sounds like the same issue I was having.

Do this:
1. Warm up the engine.
2. Shut it down, and refuel it. (Full)
3. Start it up, and let it idle for 30 seconds.
4. Check the fuel lines for air bubbles.
5. Report Back, and let me know!

Have you tried replacing the glow plug?

no actually that time it i blew out a differential first time i ever had blown one of those out.
the left wheel wouldnt turn there was a spring in the planetary gears instead of grease to offer resistance but the spring got warped and unwound due to all the burning donuts and locked up the leftside wheel.:\
i will check for air leaks but i pray its just the lsn cos i dont have anything to hand to fix an air leak. what do you use for airleaks?

truth be told i see air bubbles here and there when priming the engine and they tend to hang at the high point in the fuel line like a spirit level when I'm priming the fuel line i think its just residual air in the inline fuel filter i dont think its ever made its way to the carb though
