can anyone tell me what the ideal weight of a t-maxx should be. i bought a few aluminum parts and i didnt know if i was putting to much weight on

Well I don't think that there is a specific answer for the question. If you want the ideal weight, that is to be lighter than stock. So to achieve that, you would need to replace the parts that you want to replace with parts that weigh less. The heavier the truck is, the slower it will be. What you have to decide is, will the part that you're adding justify the added weight, such as will the durability of these arms out weigh the decreased power to weight ratio.

so i should probably mot install to much aluminum in place of the stock plastic

have u ever seen a chainsaw motor on a pullin truck or tractor rc that is? thinkin up a project

Well I have a 2 stroke weed wacker motor on my hpi baja 5b SS, but I don't know about pulling rigs, I don't know how the classes are set up, and obviously you would want to enter comps, which is the reason for building a pulling rig I would think

i have an ms290 motor off a stihl chainsaw that i was thinking of trying to make something out of. I'm a ssmall engine mechanic getting into the rc world.

You REALLY need to check out the large scale stuff. For what you have already spent on your T-Maxx, you could have had an HPI Baja 5B SS and been done with it. They are bad ass with absolutely no modifications, unlike any RC I've ever seen. It's SOOOOO much better than Nitro, and you can just run pump gas. Just take it out, crank it, run it for almost an hour on a tank of fuel, push the kill switch, and put it back up. There is no tuning, no constant temps to watch, no break in to speak of, no after run oil, etc...
