I will find the site but I found a thread on here that showd a webpage that had the sleeves for the tranny u put them where the screw goes into the tranny to hold it to the chassis... I will look through all of my stuff.. I used to go through spur gears real quick and now its solid.

go to this site for those inserts.... the 3mm ones are for the black 2.5 tranny the grey one takes 4mm just so you know dont get the 3mm if you are running the grey 3.3 tranny get 4mm.... they work like a charm I have had the same spur gear since I have put these things in!!!!!!!!!!!! You just gotta drill out the whole ALITTLEBIT you still want them tight when they go in..... and walla no more stripping out the tranny holes.....
this is the site for the 3mm inserts for the 2.5 black tranny;

Cheers will bear that in mind wen i take my tranny apart again and the screws went tighten up this time was ok though . How much does the black tranny go for ? With or reverse doesn't matter coz went to my lhs store today to get some fuel but they said the foc would be here within 4 to 5 days due to the bank holiday on monday so might slap a 2.5 tranny in without the reverse and save my 3.3 for a spare or something .

I honestly dont know but I will do some checking and get back to you.... I never really looked for a whole tranny but check on ebay aswell.. (you never know what you find there) Give me a few and I will check around myself too.

Found one 25 quid complete with foc . Looks brand new from the pics all gears look new on internals . Any body know how to the t maxx jumps with just say 4 long heavy duty shocks instead of 8 ? Would lose alot of weight there as well .

Plus with it being alot lighter it wouldn't put so much weight on the shocks
? Idk

Well took the 4 internal shocks off bumped up the outside shocks but was way too soft so gunna put em back on . Foc is coming sometime this week so will keep ya posted

Yer i had it 2wd the other week and couldn't go in a straight line so put it back 4wd lol . Yer that chassis looks pretty neat and light but don't know how strong it would be .

I am not sure I would like to get one of those chassis's aswell but I have the same question. Let me know if you get to try one out..... and how it holds up...

Or i might just take the dremel to the spare chassis . See what i can come up with . It still needs to be strong so will probably try and copy that chassis in the above link . Will post pics of the chassis wen I'm done . :)

Looks to me in that pic of that machined chassis that they have swapped to Servo's and reciever box the other way round . Why would they do that ?

Well the foc is installed and tranny is back in . And jesus christ i can't believe how much difference it makes . You wouldn't think just by taking reverse out it would go like that . Thumbs up on the foc kit . Now to see what else i can strip off this beast lol . Going to use the spektrum Servo from reverse and use it on the steering my hi tec 545 is getting abit sluggish .

Told ya right!! FOC is awesome!! You go with the traxxas plastic FOC or metal?

Kept it plastic didn't want too much rotating mass in there . Everything else is plastic in there so didn't want other parts to be weaker if i put in a metal one . Really pleased i got its like its unleashed aload more power lol :) :) . I replaced my alu bulk's with the stock ones to see how they hold up to strip some more weight so far aint broke em yet . :)

To be honest with ya, the bulks is one place that I wouldnt try to go on a diet! Especially if you have now added more speed to the truck.

More velocity=More chances to break parts

Juat my 2cents.

Yer thats what i thought . Il bash em till they break then put the alu back on . Will be looking for a new engine within the next month . Is the picco jlr red dot a direct replacement ? Tried cramming my 4.6 force 25 engine in there but that was way too big to fit lol .

I think that the picco is a big block so u will probley need a bb conversion kit and steel drive shafts.(i think)

Any good drop in engines for the t maxx all i can really find is the picco . Any other good engines to consider ? I'm from uk so dont want to pay too much shipping ?
