Haha . I'm not in the position atm to go shoppin so just makin do with what I've got just got back from taking it up the park and its surprising how much a couple lbs's makes a difference as soon as it goes into second gear i can get it to flip . So lighter is the way forward . Will post pics wen I'm done .

yeah it will srprise you what a very little bit of weight does..... but if you start thinking to scale adding a couple pounds to your r.c. would be like adding another hundred pounds or so to your regular vehicle..... You take a mustang with a 302 and put it up against a grand marcy ( spelling sucks) and the mustang will win cause it weighs about nothing compared to the big boat with the same motor....

Yer i no what your sayin i might lighten that roll cage I've got and see what i can come up with

Honestly I think you would like the black 2.5 tranny in your maxx.... The gear ratio is so different you can see the difference between my maxx's thats for sure....

Would that be a direct replacement for my 3.3 ? I've lightened the cage chopped the roof off but left one bar to go over the engine its alot lighter now

The 2.5 trans has different length output shafts, so I dont know if it is a direct replacement, but I'm sure you could make it work. The 2.5trans with FOC would make a big difference, once you see the truck going with FOC installed, you wont care about having to walk over to turn it around....just watch where you are going!!!lolIMO

Yer I've heard nothing but good stuff about the foc think i might be missing out lol . I take it i can't just take my tranny apart while everything is off and take the reverse out ?

And then i have a spare channel to which i can conjur something up with lol .

its funny that no one likes the reverse feture.... I like it in my classic.... I took it back out of my 3.3 just because the kit to put it in is just cheap.. if they had better gears there wouldnt be a problem ( well for me atleast)) you just gotta make sure your idle is right because if it idles to high it wont shift because of the presure.... I do see why some people dont like reverse but I think my classic will always have reverse and i might give one of my new 3.3's reverse again eventually..... but when you dont have it you get used to it and when you do have it you get used to having it.... I have gotten confused before in witch one I had out and tride reverse.... welll needless to say I had to walk down and get it... but after i realized i had the one without reverse I just changed driving patern and wala no problems l.o.l... If you have the aftermarket shafts you might be able to slap that tranny right in it.. and the FOC is so easy to do and it eliminates a few gears.... honestly if you like reverse you will end up keeping it but to make sure you dont want it try 4-5 bashing sessions without using reverse and see if you can get the hang of it or if you want to..

The other rigs I've had i never had reverse so its not like i need it i bash in big open places anyway . Will see what the bank balance is do you have to buy the kit then ?

Will pop into my lhs store tomorow wen i get some more fuel thats another gallon this week I've used lol . I took my tranny off earlyier while i had the engine out and is supposed to have grease in there coz there is a lot of poop in there ? Heres a pic i took wen i had it apart .

Wen i get the foc i might strip it right down and clean it all up dont think it should have that much poop in it considering there all plastic lol .

Any idea how much grease should be in there?? I only put a light dab on the gears when i put it all together...i figured that cause the gears are not metal, there wasn't as much of a need to heavily grease everything in there.

I haven't got a clue bud wen I've cleaned it all up i might put some light stuff in there dont want the gears to go dry and brittle . Was quite nervous about taking the tranny apart considering I've never done it before but can see why people love em there so easy to work on .

1st time I've took the tranny apart since I've had it which is just over a year lol .

All you need is enough to coat all the teeth lightly. The grease is used as a lubricant, not as a dampener (such as in some differentials).

Yeah, I wouldnt want the gears to get brittle either. I also replaced my tranny case when I took mine apart, just to be sure that all of the screw holes on the bottom were new and would hold when I put the trans back on the chassis...the holes on the bottom can strip out easily if your not careful, just a word of caution. Yeah I was nervous when i first took it apart, but i have now realized that there is nothing that is too hard to fix on these things!

Best way to loose alot of wheight is to make it brushless conversion, and do a mamba monster!
