I took my max st out again on saturday. I ended up flooding the engine with nirto (cause i took the gas tank off to troubleshoot an air leak and ended up draining all the fuel into the muffler), I did get the thing to start after that so the engine is ok. I was having crazy problems where the car wouldn't idle. Come to find out, I had broken a servo at some point. :( It was cracked clean where is screws to the mount. I ran to Allentown on Sunday and picked up a new servo for $20. I then tried to start it later that night. I couldn't.

I messed up my carb settings hard. The hsn is easy to reset cause the instructions say where it should sit from closed. The lsn, however, is a fuzzy mistery. The instructions only mention the pinch test and don't tell you how to reset it from closed (if you can close it). How do I reset my lsn?

Topic #2: I bought another gas car for my son for under $150. :D

see the ebay auction here

I can't find jack on this "nitro hawk" thing made by traxxas. The traxxas website doesn't even admit they made it -- no support for it, etc.

tower hobbies has a few things that come up under nitro hawk but it's not a finite part list just odds and ends.

Can someone point me to some documentation on the Nitro Hawk?

the nitro hawk is a old truck best thing to do is email then and see if they have anything left....the next part is very distasteful to me bu you might have to go to the traxxas boards ...damn got to go wash my mind out with soap for thinking that

The sun is shinning on my back as I'm sitting here at work. It's such a tease. This is the warmest it's been in months and I'm stuck behind my desk. :wtf:

I can't wait to go play. That is if I can start the damn thing. Any info on how to reset the lsn? Do I just keep doing pinch tests until it revs for the proper number of seconds?

No, the instructions dont give you any clue where to put the needle. They just tell you about the pinch test.

And yes, the lsn is at the center of the throttle arm. (As you pull the throttle, the mechanism rotates around the lsn).

here is a pic:

the lsn is in the center of that black dognut of rubber which is the throttle arm

nother pic (can you tell I'm bored?):

I think I found the answer to my question:

quoted from TRX PRO .15 CARBURETOR SETTINGS

To get the low speed mixture into the correct range of adjustment, turn it in or out until the head of the screw is flush (even) with the end of the throttle arm assembly. This will be the starting point for break in.

This setting is for break in but it should get me started.

I stole it off this page.

Rob, just a suggestion on the hawk. If you need parts for it and can't find them just compare them to the same part of a nitro rustler. a lot of the parts on the hawk can be replaced by rustler parts suck as a arms and such. I did have a hawk but I just sold it to a buddy of mines dad for $20 for spare parts since he still has one running.

Lason, thanks for the info. Great stuff to know about the hawk / rustler parts. I guess the nitro hawk is the ex-brick :D

$20 spare parts rig -- maybe I can find a deal like that.

That carb looks like the same POS that came on my Fantom. I never could get the LSN anywhere close to being right for more then 30 seconds. My advise, trash the carb, and get an OS or even the TRX Pro15 carb. That's what I did. Even Fantom has come up with a new carb.

thanks for the info... I'll remember that if I have troubles
