is it needed to be done in order to drive in the snow?i hope so because i can't wait for it to snow and we have long winters. if its needed how do i do it?

Yes if you are going to drive in snow you want to water proof it......after all snow is just really, realllllllly cold water LOL.........you can get ballons from your LHS to put the electrics in, and if you already have a rechargeable battery pack in the truck so you don't have to worry about popping the servo cover off you can also put some silicon around the cover to keep the water out

Where are you at with the long winters by the way?

i have heard that this stuff that you buy at the hardware store and you just dip your servos in and let them dry and the liquid turns into a plasic that you can just rip off when it is not needed no more
srry i dont have a link or the name

srry he just posted that above as i was writing my reply thats what i was talkin about

Very good link doug, thanks for that info, I'm gonna go buy a can tomorrow :devious:

thanks for the link "dc"! but is that all id have to waterproof is the servos? I'm a newbie so i just want to make sure. and the winters last anywhere from 3 to 4 months.: :fro:

what is an rx?

RX receives the siginal from the radio you hold in your hand to drive the truck, it tells the servos to give it more or less gas and LOOK OUT!!!!!!!!Turn left (or right) :hamster:

the rx is located in the same box where you put the batteries, and all the wires from the servos and battery pack plug into

do you have to water proof the box where you put the batteries? like just wrap it in a ballon and when you are driving in the winter do you have to lean it or richen it

No, the rx is the one thing you need to wrap in a baloon, otherwise you end up covering all the plug ports with plastic

you probably should wrap the battery pack too just to be safe, then if you want to be extra safe you can put a bead of silicon around the main box cover before you close it all up

What road rage is saying is that if you dip your rx (reciver) that your metal things you plug your servo into might be hard to get the dip off. Plus all you do it clean off your servos makes sure there is no gas or anything and just dip I diped mine 2 times. Just rember everytime you big it gets bigger.
I hope this helps.

hey thanx for that link I'm gunna go out and get soem of that tomarra and dip my servos I'm gunna dip my rx too but ill plug up the plugs with somethign first so no plastic gets in there. I've always worried about gettin my electronics wet while driving through mud or snow this is sure to help.

I really dont know if it is safe for the rx to dip it in the dip, I Dont see why it would but it just might harm it.

i dont see how no plastic will get in the crystal and i have tape covering the holes already and I'm not gunna dip the antena(sp?)so ill go ahead and do it and see how it comes out

when covering the rx w/ a balloon do you just put it in and tie it up? what do you mean by sillicone? where do u put it?
