i took my tmaxx through a creek about 5 inches deep today and it ran fine and started over and over again but when i got it home it wont crank both of the lights are on on the ez start but it doesn't crank and i dont think there is any water in the engine

id suspect the one way bearing in the ez starter at the rear of the crank.
have you pulled the glow plug to see its not just hydro locked? fuel on top of the piston that wont allow the motor to roll past TDC?

does the ez start sound like its working? try turning the flywheel over by hand to see if its stuck

Please clarify...Does the engine turn over but won't start or nothing happens when you press the start button?

CHeck your one way and as was said your combustion chamber for residual liquid as well. I did the same basic thing with mine and I killed the EZ-Start electric motor. It shorted out then corroded so i had to replace it. Don't rush out and get one make sure that is what it is. So...glow plug hole....one way bearing....wiring to motor.....motor it's self. Let us know how it goes.

Was the engine submersed in the water? If it was then I would suspect there is rust at work . Where? It could be anywhere, Main bearing, crankshaft, one-way bearing, piston or sleeve.... Have you inspected this engine?

thanks guys it was the ez start motor ....luckily i have 3 of em laying around so i just threw another on and its working fine the engine was submerged and all my electronics are water proofed but the ez start isnt i also have a snorkel on my carb!

ha me too i had it out in my creek again and low and behold i blew out the tranny once again I'm tired of breaking i am redoing it all aluminum gears anyone know and good brands but besides the tranny it runs perfect in water that come to the middle of the ez start :banana:

haha thanks like most rc'ers say if u dont break it your not having fun!:marshall:
