My T/B servo when i turn my remote on goes crazy back and forth over and over, now i took it apart had a lil moister in it, i used a hair dryer to try to dry it out and it does the same thing, does that mean its toast? I'm hoping to be able to fix it. The gears in it look fine.

I know its the servo because i swapped the spots with the other servos and it doesn't do the throttle thing. I also swapped my remote controller for my friends by switching the crystal and it only does it when i turn the remote controller on! Help please? I dont want to spend any more money, I was just about to plasti dip my servos but i decided to take it for a spin and it did all this once the remote turned on so moister from the last time i guess. I didnt even drive it today, well it tried driving itself lol. THANKS PLEASE HELP ASAP!!!!!
 
sorry to say it dude but the servo is 99% guarenteed gone you can try and let it dry at room temp for a few days
 
see its weird, its all fine until i turn my remote on, when i turn the power on for the servos it goes to netrual, then when it turn my remote control on it freaks out, but i know its the servo because i swapped the spots on the reciever to the steering and it was fine, any other opinions? Thanks, anything anyone know i could try?

That would make sense though. The servo's arent trying to move when your transmitter is off (No current moving in them) the second you turn it on it checks trim and stuff.
 
for t/b it might work there stock warhead servos and arnt the best by any means
 
for steering you need a lot of servo on a savage. You could get Hi-tec 645MG on ebay for around 25 bucks, I wouldn't use anything weaker than that on a savage. I'm using two of them on my Savage for the build and break in but I will be upgrading the steering to something a lot stronger in a few weeks. My savage manual suggests a servo with 160 oz/in of torque for steering. The hitec 645MG is rated at 133 I believe but it's the strongest for an expensive servo that I could find.
 
One thing you might want to check is the crystals. Have you swapped the actual crystals with someone else. and when you do turn it on can you move the other two servos fine still? If not then i would replace the crystals first. Since you are getting new servos i would recommend and get something with at least 140oz/in torque and just throw the SX-100 servos you just bought a way. I have had a couple of those servos and the burn out just after using the brakes, and would never hold up on steering at all. get something fast and not as torquey for the T/B. Just my $.02

Either I'm missing something here, or you need to clear up this comment for me.
You swapped positions on the receiver and it was fine? If that means that the servo did NOT go nuts in the steering position, that tells me the servo is fine, and the problem is in the receiver.
What does the steering servo do when you switch it to the throttle position?
 
sorry i was tired,

I switched the steering servo wire to where my T/B servo wire was to check and make sure if it was the servo, and since the steering didnt freak out when i did that, i figured it was the T/B. I'm using my friend old Servo for t/b now and it works, but for some reason my linkage is messed up.

I Hit the breaks and it pushs the slider into the carb too much, and when i hit the throttle it doesn't go Wide open throttle. Now when i dont hit anything on the remote it goes neutral and has a nice idle opening, I might try to do that T/B mod with the T-maxx parts. 1 problem after another it seems.

Also seems like my slider in the carb turns in side the carb. Is it supposed to be able to turn? i spun the plastic piece on the linkage to shorten it so it goes WOT now the slider spins a lil.

The same exact thing happened to me!!!! I ran my nitro on wet pavement and the next day every time i would turn on the transmitter the T/B servo would just freak out. I'm sure it's water damage, but i'm not sure if there is anything you can do for it. Good news though, you can buy servos on ebay for way cheap. And for future reference, always plastic dip it. Cheap insurance policy. Good luck

They're not problems, they're simple adjustments.
You need to center the servo with the servo horn removed and the trim centered for steering, and off for throttle/brake, then re-install it and check your mechanical linkages.
 
Well, I'm using my friends old servo off his T-Maxx, well i think the servo isnt strong enough to pull back to open the carb all the way, if i go WOT on the controller then move the linkage with my fingers it slides more to go WOT. But the breaks work good. I think it was a servo for steering that why its not going WOT. do steering servos not work well for T/B?

Or i can adjust the linkage so the servo will go WOT for its limited motion, but then the idle is very high. its cold out too so the heads wrapped i dont think the high idle is a problem though, because in less people drive them where the go full speed and stop and let it ilde for a few minutes. I drive down the street turn around drive back turn around and keep doing that, so its never stopped but its not allways WOT.
 
I got my electronics wet on a 3.3 Tmaxx the other day just running on pavement.The throttle servo quit and the opti drive lights went out.I took out the receiver and sprayed the servos and receiver with WD40.I then plugged everthing back in but still no throttle or brake.Left it out and tested it the next day and all was fine.I figured it was fried but if it happens again I will try the same thing again.I will also get that receiver boxed sealed better.
I am a newb so I don't want to recommend anything,just wanted to let you know what worked for me.
 
i was thinking about using WD40 but i could smell the thing smelled like it got fried.

on the other hand, my previous question can you use a Steering Servo as T/B? Seems like the servo has enough power to hit the brakes all the way, but when it comes to Throttle it comes short. :( any ideas? ( friends old steering servo off T-Maxx)
 
Using a steering servo in the T/B won't mess anything up. I would actually be better because you would have more torque. You may lose a little speed but thats all really.
 
yeah the servo should have the same travel if I'm not mistaken if not more a steering servo is gonna be way stronger
 
you can use steering servos for throttle, but not the other way around. I got my truck wet in a freak accident, and I was having trouble with the servos and I knew they didn't get wet. It was the receiver that was causing the problem, because the receiver sends power to the servos, so if it's not right it will make you think the servos are messed up. If you have problems I would check out the receiver. I put a new one and everything has done great, been out twice for hours at a time.
 
2055 is the stock steering servo for the tmaxx 2.5 and also the stock throttle servo for the revo3.3 and stock dual steering servos and mabey the stock throttle for tmaxx 3.3(not sure about the tmaxx 3.3)

about 80 oz torque
.20 speed or something like that
