Ok sweet I don’t have the remote is there anywhere you might know I can get a cheap one that will work for it? and there’s a battery pack on it to does that need to be charged before it will start?

Welcome to the hobby. So, your very first RC vehicle is a nitro? Please be patient. Nitros, if your not familiar with them, can be very frustrating. I would recommend taking a few classes on YouTube University. You will learn how to tune your motor and care for it.

As for a radio system, it all depend on how much you want to spend. Right now, on Ebay, there's a brand new Kyosho transmitter with a receiver for about $55. That unit is probably the best you will find for that price.

Nitro vehicle will need a battery to power the onboard electronics. If it has a battery stick pack, then you will need to charge it. If it is a regular battery box, you will need to swap out the batteries. They are usually 4 AA batteries. If it is a stick pack, it would be cheaper to buy the 4 AA battery box than to buy a new charger.

Good luck, and have fun with it.

nice looks like an old duratrax Maximum MT, if that has the DTX .18 it is made by os and are some great easy tuning engines. the torq engines were decent as well, think they were based off Toki engines.
i really recommend checking out a lot of videos and guides for tuning, JQracing on youtube has a great guide, it is 1.2hrs long, but a very informative guide. there is a really good flow chart here as well. also really recommend checking out "Ron Paris's Tuning Bible" gives really good information and explanations of what is going on. key though is getting some experience, everything sounds good on paper, but doing it yourself is the key part.
biggest things for being new to nitro is ASK QUESTIONS, there are no dumb questions! and patience, nitro has a steeper learning curve than electric, but once you get it figured out, is just as easy.
