k well I'm might get a collari .30 but if that fails I'm gonna get the wasp .28 or the diablo .28. out of the diablo and wasp which is the better overall engine?

thanks, mark

yeah lol, w/e. all they said was that they were similar. they never clarified which was better.

J/K ... most companies don't make there own motor....they're manufactured by somebody else....but who-ever makes the diablo 28 and the wasp 28 is the same....diffs being case color and head...I don't think theres much diffrent.

well thanks for the link to the SH .28 for 130$. with that price i defantly have to get it!!!

The wasp and diablo are the same engine, the SH is good but it lacks top RPMs. The Wasp and Diablo can hit 42,800 where as the Sh is only in the 30s somehwere I believe. If your looking for wheelies then get the SH, if you want wheelies and to be able to get very high speeds the wasp will be worth the extra few bucks.

few extra bucks? i have seen SH .28's for 130 and wasps and diablos for close to 200. do u know a place where i can really get one for a few more bucks. cuz 70 dollars is way more than a few bucks. if ur saying the wasp is like 3$ more then its common sence to get the wasp. thanks

You can get them for 160$ at Towerhobbies when they have the sale going on. It just ended so they are 170$ now. If you don't have that cash then get the SH, it'll give you tons of torque, just not quite as high of a top speed.

Thats a great deal, I would suggest it if you have 20 bucks. Nice find savage25rocks.

yeah i dont know I'm gonna wait until the wasp .28 VS SH.28 poll ends before i decide.

motors are rated for peak HP @ a certain RPM ... for instance... SH28 3.5 @ 28,000 and the wasp 28 2.95 @ 42,000 ... but that doesn't mean the sh28 just does 28, 000 RPM's.... it's practical range is more like 40,000 .... but it's HP @ that RPM range might be more like 2HP ...... don't let #'s fool ya....The SH28 is a KILLER!

You are right, but I think I read somewhere the top RPM for the SH was 32,000? Or am I making that up?

Not sure...I'll have to find my booklet that came w/ mine....I thought it said 40k....but then again....all these numbers are Company #'s.....I'd like to see one of the mags do a BigBlock shootout and dyno these damn things!

I know they should! I would still bet the Wasp has more top end because it is a 8-port mill, the SH is less isn't it? Less is better for torque and more is better for high end isn't it?

yeah...I think that's the way it goes but there is other factors...like the crank and degree of ports....a lot of science goes into it! But I believe that's the general rule. I put the SH28 in my truggy...cause it's only a single speed (locked center diff) so I figured it'd be best. I have a wasp28 to put into the LST since it's more a traditional shifting Monster.
