I have a savage with a wasp. 28 in it and i just changed the rubber clutch shoes to aluminum ones and i started it up to try it and the engine was screaming so loud...i quickly held the fuel line 2 just it off now I'm scared 2 turn it back on. could it be the clutch shoes are on wrong? if your wondering i did change the piston and sleave like ever hobbie shop said that i have to do to get a wasp to run right.

If you changed the piston/sleeve, you need to re-break in the engine. Turn the needles back to factory settings and re-do the break in.

Why a LHS told you to replace a P/S on a perfectly good Wasp to get it to run right is a mystery to me! I admit, Wasp's can be quite a bear to get dialed in, but if you did just replace the P/S, you need to run through the entire engine break-in process again.

As for the engine screaming, check to make sure you installed the clutch shoes the right way and that the springs are on correctly. You also should insure your idle adjustment and throttle linkage isn't holding the carb barrel open.

One note I just recently discovered about those things. If you are running 30% nitro, you need to add a head shim or you will crush the plugs. These things seem to like 30% the best, but they are not shimmed for it.

oh i geuss i forgot to write that the engine was fully broken in.

I'm running trinity 20% so ur saying i should goto 30%.........they told me that if you look threw the exaust hole in the wasp that if ur turn the fly wheel the piston doesn't go all the way past the exaust hole...but I'm not sure I'm going to run my truck over to my hobbie shop and let me play with it and see what the deal is.
