wasp .26 needle settings

The needle instructions that came with my wasp; says the stock needle settings are:

H: 3 to 3 1/2
L: 10 1/2 to 11 1/2

now if my L screw is set to even 9 turns out from closed, it sticks out like half an inch past flush, which has to be incorrect. 3 to to 4 from closed seems to be about flush and it runs @ about 150*160* at 3 1/2 ->HNS and 4 to 3 1/2 ->LNS. would anyone happen to know the correct stock low speed setting?

I have the Picco 26 and the settings are correct. I use the MC59( HOT PLUG) and I broke it in with those settings and it works just fine. I suggest breaking it in outside temps in the 60 degrees F. If you are going to run it in super cold temps I would lean the LSN out. Break it in right and do it slow!!! Do not want to rush it. Hope this helps

I have already broken in the engine with the factory settings, never touched the needles durning break-in, and I took my time and did everything correctly.
After break-in I was trying to get it tuned and I set the needles to "after break-in settings". but the 10 1/2 to 11 1/2 threw me off.

so, HNS 3 to 3 1/2 --and-- LNS 3 1/2 to 4 -- sounds correct?

thanks jon2

How's the .26 Wasp compare to the Sirio .23? I'm wanting a BB for my Revo. Where's the best place to buy a motor?

I have never used a Sirio so I wouldn't know. but I do know the wasp .26 is plenty of engine for my savage. I have to gear it for top speed so it doesn't keep looping from wheelies. top speed is insane. the wasp .26 is defiantly an excellent engine, I'm more then happy with it. :dancin:
there is tons of places you could buy from, ebay usually as great deals on engines and parts. on an ebay note, I always buy from people with more then 50 feedbacks and at least 97% or 98% postive feedbacks. I haven't received a sour deal yet this way. I personally like towerhobbies too.
