Ey lads, was havin some fun on the weekend, namely towing myself on rollerblades with the savvy.

Question is: the motor has more than enough power to pull me along at half revs, but any more throttle than that and something is giving. Is it the slipper on the spur or is it simply the grip level of the shoes in the clutch? What can I do to get it ballsier, coz if this works well, I can 'drive' myself to the shops, even with my suspended licence... lol.

Cheers lads

It could be that the slipper clutch is loose, mate. If not, then the clutch shoes and the CB are heating up till they can't get a good grip.

without calling me names, is it a bad idea to slighty scuff the inside of the bell?

You need to be informed that your nitro motor aren't going to last very long with this kinda stress on them. I think it's a cool idea and it may be worth reaplacing the motor pretty often, but I didn't want you to come on here next week and say " Oh no, for some reason my brand new engine is messed up. What a piece of crap."

well i'm 133kg, and for the first 50 meters the truck could get the power down well, but after that it must have been the clutch shoes heating up becuase it felt it was only giving me 20% of what it was from takeoff. pretty fkn funny though :D had the security guard laughin =)

the 4.6 has HEAPS of power for this app. problem is getting the power down without either wheel/clutch/spur slipping. Will take a video next time :D

6'6 bloke being towed by a 550mm long toy, bwahaha

looooooooooooool alright i kjnow what I'm doing tonight.. Rollerblades and savage...

lol nop jsut got back. WaS A BLAST.. its hard for it to actully pull from a stop. So whar i did was speed up on my own then then put the truck on the ground and make it pull. Works like crazy

integy steel spurs are pathetic... that colored plate came off the spur not even 10 minutes into a bash.

Remember, these are 1/8 scale so to really pull something it has to be a realistic comparison to 1/8 scale.

not sure how related this is, but I SHATTERED my metal integy spur gear on the weekend..... pretty pissed off at that!!!

got the SOLID metal XL spurgear on the way.

i fkn hate spur gears. officially the most broken item on my savvy

The Spurs will go bad on you when gear mesh is set wrong.

mesh was spot on mate, it was seriously perfect. straight too.

if a little stone got in the gear at high speed would it be enough to (SHATTER) a metal spur?

I would think so. But remember that you have steel spur to Metal CB. Something get's wedged in between the teeth, something has to give.

Also, did you loctite your engine mount ?Blue loctite the thread and let it cure.
