i talked to some friend that knew the whole story....they could not get the guy to move out of the contest they tried everything and i think like 75,000.00 was on the line for first place...crazy poop if you ask me...looks like he gave him a little ground and pound in the end...
 
Well I was at the ilands a few years back and was surfing a killer spot I did not paddle out to the peak right of the start I sat on the inside and was catching the left overs,I looked up on the cliffs and the locals where yelling and tossing rocks at some guys funny poop,well soon after I see this a local guy stops at me and says comon bra come out to the peak catch some well the point of this story is no matter where you are respect the locals and dont be a ass and you will fit in...these where some of the best waves I have ever road....I'm sure if I would have just paddled out like my poop did not stink they would have treated me differnt for sure...I have been surfing my coast where I live for over 15 years now and it is nice not to have to worry about locking the truck doors or having some kook give me poop,remember if you are new to surfing there is a pecking order you have to make your way to the top just do it by giving off good vibes and remember we surf for the fun of it and there always will be another wave and well it just may be better...........
 
I love how the guy sits there with swollen lips and the others snapping pics.
Some people really understand one language only... :boxing: real funny!
 
If you ask me the fight on the beach looked fake like the punches where not for real......and where the life gaurds off duty or what...this is not what surfing is about lame if you ask me........:preachin: :preachin: :preachin:
 
That is just horrible. How could someone resort to that kind of open violence and just keep doing it? A huge crowd of people gather around all filming and no one called the cops?

The beach is free, and open. If they had a special area for their little contest they should have made it well known with floating borders and such. Even IF they had the right to be there so did the other guy. That is just asinine.
 
well I can see the point there is a contest going on but where are the people running it,and if maybe the guy was a long time local but well thats not the case as we can see,that is just what surfing is not about,I love it when some punk as kid starts a bad vibe in the water up here in the far north they dont seem to stick around for long or should we say get many waves if your a punk get treated like one...............:argue: :sorry: :sorry: :sorry:
 
I lived on Oahu for 6.5 yrs while in the Army and took up scuba diving, it was great but we knew which places were safe to dive and which places were'nt. Some locals dont like mainlanders and wheather you like it or not you'd better respect it otherwise you'll get ur ass kicked and you dont fight 1 of them you fight the whole damn gang. I was smart about it If I saw a place I wanted to dive and there were locals there I'd go with a buddy and look for a piece of trash on the beach pick it up and throw it in a trash can this show's respect to the locals and they're beach.

Man I welcome you on any nor cal beach up here,if more people would do like that we would never have the local this local that stuff and the beaches may evean still be open for late night camp fires again......:doh: :doh: :doh:
 
LOL Fast I hope and wish others would do the same for me in my neck of the country. When I go hunting and I see people not fm around here just tossing they're garbage it ticks me off too, can't blame the locals for getting po'd it's they're back yard and they were there 1st every1 els is just visiting. Take care...
 
i 've been here all my life and theres a few punk locals here but its nothing like the video, i myself was in shock when i saw it. it brings shame to the state of hawaii....this is a great place beleive me

If it's fake it may as well not even be hawaii...?
