i bought the ansmann virus racing kit put it together then waited a few days for the guy in shop put engine together installed engine and it only goes backwards when its a 1way engine(forward) has he done something wrong can any1 help:\

Did you put the kit together yourself? First thing I would check is the gears, differentials, bearings, etc...there's got to be something installed backwards.

First time I hear something like this :\

i put the kit together myself the differentials were pre built in box the only thing i didnt build was the engine the guy in shop did it for me may he of rushed it and put something wrong way or would u say i put something its brand new aswell

Maybe the clutch shoes aren't put in the right way, I believe it's clockwise. Other than that, check your differentials. You may have put it in the opposite way it should have been, and it causes the wheels to go backwards.

if the clutch shoes were put on backwards they would not spin out and engage. I really have clue how this could happen. Could you post pics? they might help.

i didnt build the engine myself but could the piston rod be set wrong to make car go backwards i looked when engine started with revs and engine running anti clockwise. this is weird 1?

on the tmaxx's you can install the diffs upside down, and the rig will go backward. i would check and see if you did this on your kit.

the diffs were pre built so could i have put them on wrong or have they been built wrong

you should have had a front and rear diff....drive to front axle and drive to rear axle both turn same direction...so one diff has to run opposite direction to keep all four wheels turning same direction....I suspect you have your front and rear diffs swapped. I'm not very familiar with this rig, but based on the information you have given so far, this is certainly where i'd start

just a quick double check before dissassembly...rotate your spur by hand...
if viewing your rig from the back, looking front, the spur should rotate counterclockwise....opposite the direction of your clutch bell. your front and rear driveshafts i believe will turn clockwise, but not positive, it's unlikely you got a gear put in wrong to reverse out in the transmission. if all that is rotating the direction it's supposed to...then check your diffs...upside down...or front rear swap would give you the symptoms you described.

I hope someone with your rig jumps in here to verify this information....

I doubt your engine is turning counterclockwise..unless you are referring to viewing it from the front. either way, it's not likely it's running backwards.

I'm going with u on the diffs i will swap them around and try thanks ps.it was my thick mate who said it was going counterclockwise?

It's your diffs. They are upside down, if they are anything like a Tmaxx installation. Common mistake. :whhooo::) Yup, I've done it.

thanks all it was the diffs upsidedown silly me:\all sorted now cheers
