I finally got around to working on my 2007 winter project. LMAO
Kickin' it old school with a Kyosho Sideways which is based on the original Ultima 2wd chassis.
Box shots
Virgin seal
Popped the seal
Tires are sick
Parts is parts
Aluminum chassis parts sure are thin compared to modern rigs
Before I move onto the build, I would like to mention that phillip head screws are the biggest PITA ever to build an RC with.
On to the build...
When I build kits, I always jump ahead and build the shocks first.
Diff & Tranny
Tranny assembly installed
Steering knuckles
Front end assembly
Servo saver
Vintage Airtronics servo with old style connector
Rotary speed control
Top plate with speed control and nerf bars installed
I elected not to bother with installing another servo for the speed control or a vintage receiver. This is going to be shelf queen after all.
Motor mounted with speed control heat sinks above
Rear guard mounted
Chubby tires installed
Pretty quick build. Probably took about 3 hours taking my time not to damage anything. Parts are next to impossible to get.
Now I am on to the part I dread. Trimming a thin lexan body that I have no hope of replacing if I mess it up.
