OK I used to have a win98 media player installed on this PC....a friend had a version that was compatible w/ win2000....now it no longer works and I had to install the newer media player and IT SUCKS ASS........I have no brightness/contrast/color control and it only plays limited files.....I have tons of old video files from 10 years ago that no longer work in this player...I have winamp 5.05 as well and it plays more files than the media player does but I still have no brightness control.....is there a free player that I can download that just plays everything and gives the controls for brightness/contrast/color...or is there one that's not 50 bucks that does it as well???? please help cause I'm tired of downloading RC vids that are in the color realm of Suck....

I dont know if REALONE has color controls but their website is REAL.COM

i think those are all the free ones

Media player 9
winamp

Did you try media player 10 or are you looking for something that will work in 98?

Is that the newest version of media player?
I think that's what I have....where do you get the video controls to display?
that is exactly what I want in the controls....but the issue w/ not playing all media files....I guess I just have to geek out one night and find a hundred different codecs huh?

and No I 'm not using windows 98 but the media player that came with it just played everything w/ no problems...I know gates stopped giving people alot of these features because companies got pissed and started suing him over his media players being able to play their files....stupid idiots....and there's that whole Java applet BS w/ sun too.....oh well thanks for lettin me know they have that function again....I was really hating getting dark colored RC vids lately...

Just click on the white looking button in the left corner just above the word microsoft in the pic i posted. Then click on enhancements then then video settings. This will display what you need.

Looks like I'm late. I was going to recomend the free version of Divx player. It'll play most file types, and there's controls for brightness, and all that in the preferences.

I'm not even touching the other subject.
