No, but I am very curious about that particular item myself, have you had a chance to install and try it out yet?

Thanks in advance for the enlightenment of the new toys Mr. Review......:D

I saw this as my local hobby shop today and my buddy (owns the hobby shop) recommended that I don't purchase the VSM. He said it's really cheezy, runs on a small micro battery that's extremely difficult to install, and you can only install one battery on one of your spur gears. So if your car is a two-speed, then it won't give you an accurate reading of your speed. Plus, he said it's not really accurate anyway.

Has anyone actually tried this?

well for starters its a magnet not a battery. second if he would read the instructions it says not to install it on either spur gear if you have a 2 speed tranny. i should have mine installed by tomorrow night.

i have pics of mine installed! they are in the gallery! heres one of them. PS never mind the fuel line i was in a hurry

What's the distance from the sensor to the magnet? It looks like it's too far, or not even lined up. Any pictures with the front end installed and everything on?

its about 2 mm. its dead on. in the pic thats just the front end the drive cup is on the center piece with the motor. i will get some more pics of it installed soon. also the drive cup in the pic is assembled backwards:dumb: i had to do some moding to it so the rod that goes through it would go in all the way.

I'm guessing somewhere in the 30mph range?

oh btw, I found my ntc3 can do about 30mph without even trying...lol

i got 30 mph before i trashed the steering. i didnt have time to get my new 24.7 tuned before i curbed it either

That IS clean, Paintbug. What are you using to anchor the magnet to the cup?
i used Pink label ZAP CA glue. i had to do some modding to the screw that goes through the drive cup also so when you screw it in it wouldnt hit the magnet.

PS i sent those pics in to venom hopfully they will sent me a hat :D
