Has anyone tried the Venom racing tires? I just got a set of Magnetics Hyper grip tires without foams. I will try them this weekend.

They're ok for bashing but also depends on how hard you run your car. I went through a set in 1 day just because we drive so hard. I now use foams and it's more of a point and shoot deal.

They actually do, depending on the surface condition (cracks & divits) and how you run them. It's a world of difference. Foams are pretty much point and shoot.

I don't know what car you will be running them on or your suspension settings but I usually do well with 40 shore all the way around (26mm front/30mm rear). Or I run 42 front/ 35 rear if it's a little bit cooler in the AM during qualifying.

Remember, your suspension setup for Rubber tread is different than the setup for foams. Foams will ask for different camber and toe just because of their running characteristics.

For racing the foams is the way to go. If the asphalt is smooth and prepared the foams will last a couple races depending on ur driving and length of the track. A general setup is 37 shore all around and then as u run the car u will change ur setup and tires for that particular track.

I ran 3 tanks on parking lot asphault with the Venom tires last night. It wore off probably 1/4 to 1/3 of the tread. Is that normal, 10 tanks on a set of rubber tires? I just need practice, so I want long life right now.

the best for asphalt will most likely be foam tires. they give better grip and last longer. thats what I've seen (the guy i usually run with uses them).
