i have TMAXX 2.5 that does not have a fail safe on it, nor do i have a temp gun. are these things any good! i have a chance to get one brand new for $20.00 thoughts?????????

The temp gun is a definite but should only be used to see where the temp is at not to tune to. If you're running a 2.4 system you don't need the failsafe IMO but If you're running fm you might want to consider it.

I haven't used one personally, but my friend had one and he was constantly complaining of false high temp shut downs. On the same note though,I never checked his temps myself but he certainly ran a lot more after removing it. I have read of several others having the same problem.

Personally,I use the Ofna Micro fail safe and check temps with a separate temp gun also made by Ofna.

i had that problem with mine so i had to sell it on ebay i also have the micro and only sometimes i use a snap on temp gun
