Has anyone used this pipe, especially for on-road? Sl0eg1n picked one up and it's pretty indestructable. Big plus for him since he has gone through quite a few pipes due to crashes on the track.

How has performace been affected? Any gains or losses? The reason I am asking this is because when placed side by side next to the ROAR legal pipe we usualy use, the shape is more rounded than conical.

Well, if anything, it will be tested to the fullest on a large track tomorrow during the BARCAR race (220+ foot back straight).

Forget it. I saw it in action today. That vantage pipe SUCKS MOOSE APPENDAGES! It's made for only low end torque ... if that's what you call it. The mid to high rpm range suffer considerably. Fuel economy suffers significantly ... even when retuned! The only good thing about it is the CF cool factor.

When compared to the TP06 pipe that we usually use, performance from holeshot to almost 1/4 throttle is ok, at best. Anywhere above that (where second would kick in) just proved to be worthless. The "snappiness" of the throttle response and even onpower exiting out of the corners suffered quite a bit. I would not recomend this pipe to anyone that is racing their on-road in any way shape or form. BTW, this was observed on a Serpent 710 using a Novarossi NS12S3 (unmodified). Also, what we usually got in fuel economy (7+ minutes) was reduced to barely 5 1/2 minutes. And that was with a race setting on the needles.

it wasn't even 5 minutes. the tank was sucked dry at 4:30. this pipe is only good for bashing and not racing. i am going to stick with the novarossi efra 2601 pipes from now on.

It figures, I mean CF is cool and to make a pipe that actualy performs nicley is just to good to be true.

I have one on my buggy. I just did breakin so i will let you know how it works tommorow...

Try it first with the CF pipe. Then do another tank with an aluminum pipe you usually use. Just so you can see the comparrison.

did you guys adjust the needle when having the Vantage pipe on? or simply use the same needle position as the aluminum pipe?

Experience with mine pipe was great after I retuned my needles when i changed to Vantage pipe. Maybe you need to check if there is any clogging, i've heard they have this problem.

Also remembered something ... this was used on a very, Very, VERY large track made for 1/8's. That vantage pipe is good for small tracks. The track we were on had a 220' back straight with a 100+ inner straight and large hairpins and sweepers. It was the Ft Meyers setup from the Winter Nationals.

Brand new pipe placed on an engine that is the "old reliable" of the group of engines we have. That is why it's the backup engine to the finiky ones. Either way, it goes into the bash drawer.

no problem with clogging. the pipe is not meant to be raced with. it's suitable for bashing only in my eyes. there was a loss of midrange torque and fuel consumption was terrible. i race my serpent 710 only in organized races and differences in performance was very noticable. i am going back to using the novarossi 2601 conical pipe.

the performance of an engine is affected by the shape of the pipe and the resonance it creates. this pipe is not worth the money for serious on-road racers. we are just letting racers aware that they may not have the expected performance returns. the only return that it meets is that it is hard to dent from a collision.
