I am pickup RC again after 10 yrs (school and work  ). I am contemplating to get either V1RRR WCE or Serpent 710. Right now, I am more toward V1RRR WCE because ppl said it is more sturdy than Serpent. Which one would you pick? Which shop has the lowest price available? Preferably in USA. I don't like to deal with overseas shipping and custom. Plz help. Thx.

I personally have a Serpent 710 and love it. i also have great parts support for the car. i was also told by one of my local hobby shop owners that serpent is trying to cut down on costs for the consumer. the prices for parts have been decreasing since the management change at serpent usa.

i never driven a V1RRR WCE or seen it run on the track personally. i just know that my 710 is more agile than my NTC3 on the track. i can take more aggressive lines with my 710. i can take even more aggressive lines with my xrayT1FK05.

Ratzo has the VoneRR and I was impressed by it. I can only imagine what the RRR version has to offer. I have the S710 and I love it. As far as durability, anything is going to break if hit often and/or hard enough. I have been through some rough crashed with my 710 and all was well. Only regular stuff broke that you would expect to break in a race (suspension parts).

For dealers, check the LHS otherwise, check the r/c mags. There are a lot of shops that do out of state orders. My LHS has 3 in stock and if you would like, PM me and I'll give you the info to contact them here in NYC. They will ship UPS ground but if you prefer another carrier, just let them know.

If your more on the Kyosho 3R side and don't want to order it overseas, check or call http://kyoshoamerica.com. The last time I checked the website, they have posted the 3RWCE. Coz online hobby stores overseas are almost sold out - or pay more and remember this is a limited edition only. Also few weeks ago...if your local here in NYC - call Brooklyn Hobbies. I spoke to the owner and he got a few of them.

I ran myself a 3R...and I got the ones w/ a keychain (1st batches). You will only need a front universal, if you did not get yourself a WCE.

I have both the RR, and RRR WCE.
I have to get the car setup a little better before I can give an honest opinion.
I can't compare it to the 710, I've never driven one.
But I hear that people that have them love them.

The 710 is a car to love, once you figure out how to set it up to your driving style and needs. sl0eg1n and I got lucky because we knew a few people that race it heavily and they gave us a good setup and tips on how to configure the car to our needs. IF you don't have that luxury, make sure you read the setup guide that comes with the kit and follow it to the letter!

You gonna like it, compared to the RR. If your not done building it, use 5-10K diff oil and not the 30K for the rear diff. You can use that later for Solid Front-30K Rear Diff. combo. I'm running the stock setup, only changed a few settings like the rear diff oil, front spring(blue). Driving my Kawa05RR full time last season and this RRR came late, was like forever for me to wait for this 2005 season. First drive....grin on my face - coz I know it's way different than my 05RR and I'm already happy with the 05RR. Between the 2 Kyosho's...depends on the track. The RRR are more suitable for most tracks and the 05RR is more like 75% only...traction wise.

About the 710....test drove once on the track. It's a good quality RC, other than that I have no comment...

Oh BTW... all my onroads are Kyosho - Evolva, RRR, 05RR, KawaZT-1.

Thx for all the replies. I just purchased a V1RRR WCE at rc-toro.com. And with this long weekend, I finally have time to build it :)

Nice setup system. But, Hudy is too expensive. I am considering PMB. Any opinions?

Yup..sl0eg1n is right!

Hudy 1/8th Scale sticker (so, can be used on both 10th & 8th scale cars) - $15, Integy System - $60~65 then Ikea Scrap Board $.50 :)
