i finally got my truck back from the hobby shop!

back on subject...

when my truck is just sitting there idling...its fine when i drive it, its fine but when i hit the brakes (moving or not) the rpm's go too far down on my engine and it cuts off. what to do...i dont know. i think i need to move the pushrod up a little on the throttle servo...but i dont know how...

can anyone help?...please.

Idle stop is set too low. That's the little screw right by the inlet on the carb. That is what sets your idle. Take the air cleaner off. Turn on your radio and truck. Turn your throttle trim back so the trim closes the carb as far as it will go. There should be about a 1mm opening. If it's smaller, you're closing it too much and will stall the engine. To increase your idle, turn the screw clockwise a little until there's a 1mm gap. Then use that screw, not the trim on the transmitter, to adjust your idle.

do i need to have the throttle trim on the radio all the way down when i do this...or in the middle?

I would set it all the way down when you do this. That way you know the servo and linkage are pulled all the way back. When you're done with this adjustment, you can then use the throttle trim to set the drag brake and also you can advance the throttle trim when starting to make it a bit easier.

Be cautious when upping the idle - too high and it will cause premature engagement of the clutch, and if held at brake in this condition, it will cause premature clutch failure or even too much drag on the engine also causing a stall. Check the condition of clutch bearings and clutch, make sure it's not just excessive drag that's causing the stall, then also tuning. If it's tuned too rich or lean at low-end, your idle could be fine but it's dying due to that, or the drag, instead of being too low on the idle.
