I am somewhat new to nitros, i am looking at the revo at my LHS and he said it is hard to start. I've read up on it but i want more ideas, so what is EVERYTHING that could make it not want to start right away? also it has rpm a-arms but needs a batter for the ez start and nitro and hes asking 400 for the truck, and it has been driven maybe 1 gallon maximum, good deal? thanks guys!! :post_count1:

$400 seems too much for a truck with potential issues..could be as simple as a glo plug...or it was run with the wrong fuel, or leaned out too much and the piston and sleeve are damaged....they are only $470 new from most places....i'd save the extra $$ and buy new if he wants $400 for a suspect truck and engine...

Yeah, Thats too much... I didn't pay that much for my 2 revos combined... Granted I found good deals but I wouldn't go over $275-$300 on a revo in new condition..

If your looking at one with problems, I'd say $250 tops... Check craigslist in your area...Most of those guys will bargin a little.. I haven't seen one for sale here in a couple of weeks unless I missed it..

+1 on it being too much. I would say $250 just as previously stated. If you have that much money to spend on on I would also throw another $70 with it and get a new one. That way you know EXACTLY whats going on with the truck cause its yours and you know what youve done with it.

300 or less for that rig man. .. as was stated before 400 for a rig that you don't know the history on is probably bad news to begin with, just throw another 70 at it and get a new one that way you know its being broken in correclty and you know that y ou are using the right fuel and that every thing is where it needs to be

thanks for the replys everyone, i live in canada so everythings a little bit more over here also. And i broke my leg and have 10 weeeks to recover so i want something ASAP because i am ready to jump out of my skin!!! looks like ill take the advice and keep going.....

Ok so i went back down there because i really wnat it, he hadnt had time to look at it and he just plugged a battery for the starter in. it seems like it hasnt been run in awhile and not very much at all because there is very little wear on everything. but it still wont start it wants to wurl over but wont fire, he is going to be trying glow plugs and everything, lets keep on track here and give me info on how it wont start, i know it wont be a very good truck to buy but i know the owner and he wouldnt screw me so why wouldnt it run?!?!? any ideas?

I'd start with the glow plug. If it hasn't been run in a while the carb and fuel lines may be all gummed up. Probably new lines and clean the carb...
