I'm waiting for the HS-645 steering seerv to show up in my mail box. When it arrives I will do the Throttle/Brake mod.

I have seen two ways of doing it this mod:
1) When the brakes are applied the servo compresses against a spring.

2) When the brakes are applied the servo compresses against a piece of fuel tubing.

I'm leaning towards option #2.

If i decide to do option #1...i will need another spring. The OFNA throttle kit (part # 10724) only comes with one spring and i can't just buy a spring without out ordering another complete kit.

I called nitrohouse and the guy said that i could use a spring from a ball point pen to make up the difference with the shorter spring.

My question is, would a spring on the brake linkage do any good or would it be much less complicated to only use fuel tubing?

Fuel tubing works great! You can control how hard or soft it breaks by the length of the tubing. The longer it is the softer it will break, the shorter it is the harder it will break. Heres a pic of mine...

I do the same setup as NCNitro. I have it on mine, and I just did it at the track for someone else yesterday. It's easier to cut and adjust than a spring is, and spares are always available in your tool box.

good idea...i will go with the tubing....just makes better sense

The thin silicone tube that comes stock on it, seems to go soggy pretty quickly. The brakes needed to be adjusted regularly. After going with the fuel tube I have better brake response, and haven't had to adjust them again. It's been on for almost 2 years.

Mine is on a Tmaxx, not the savage, but it's all about the same. What parts for the mod? Just take off the stock silicone tube, or the spring, and put on a piece of fuel tubing in its' place.
