In case you didn't know or haven't installed it yet - Firefox 4 is out and it rocks!

Not only did they change up the interface a bit (for the better IMO) but it's also faster and understands newer web programming that the older version didn't.

If you've downloaded it already, what do you think about it?

I've been using FF 4.0 for a couple weeks now. It takes a little getting used to because they moved a few buttons. But other than that I've had no problems. I'm not enough of a compuphile to know if it's faster or not. But it's been smooth so far. Still has all the add-ons I like and still easy to use. No complaints at all.

It looks good, but some of my favorite extensions/add-ons aren't compatible with this version yet.

^ yep I downloaded it last week and I like it other than the fact some of my add-ons didn't carry over.

Downloaded and installed.

For some reason the top of the window does not have the orange Firefox drop down button like it's supposed to. It looks the same as the previous version. As a result, I can't make my bookmarks toolbar show up. Grrrrrrrr

edit: Found how to turn the toolbar back on.

I too don't have the orange drop down bar on one of my work PC's as it's supposed to, but do have the orange drop down bar on another work pc and my home pc. Odd.

Guys in order to get the orange drop down menu, you must turn off the "menu" bar.

Right click at the top of firefox, you should get a thing that has "menu bar, navigation toolbar, book mark tool bar, etc." then click the "Menu bar", and the file, edit, etc. will disappear and you will be left with the orange drop down button

Been playing with the new version and seems to be noticeably faster loading pages.

Thanks for the info.

FireFox is all I've used for many years.
I set restore points in my backups and did the download.
Very nice, SUPER clean look. Haven't really put it through a workout yet, but it should be fine. A few incompatible plugins, but nothing important.
Right, by the way, you have to turn off the menu bar to get the orange button.

Really, Rolex? I thought you had to turn off the menu bar to get the orange button.

I've been having problems with FireFox being slow to load for the last couple of weeks, and now I've noticed that it's even worse with FF4, taking almost 30 seconds or more to open.

I can't locate the issue, so decided I would give Google Chrome a try.
Dang. It's lightning fast. The instant I hit the favorite button for RCNT, the page is there.
I've now set Chrome as my default browser.

I don't see why you're complaining, Rolex. You could just take a nap while the pages load. It'll cut down on the snoring coming from the mods' lounge while you're on duty.

I am running windows 7. Took a few minutes to get used to it but I like it. I had problems with FF crashing a lot (more then once a day) and downloaded ff4 and it seems to be running better. Freezes up sometimes when downloading PDF's in browser.
