This post is more of a reminder for newbies but anyway......

While getting my Savage ready over the weekend I was going over things I haven't checked in a while. I switched radios and was setting up the EPA for the throttle and found out I have been running with only about 1/4 max opening. No matter what I changed,it didn't matter. The servo was fine, just the spring in the horn was flexing. It was weaker than my return spring.

Being that I'm a "don't fix what ain't broke" kind of guy I never noticed this before. The truck always ran great. So I did the Ofna throttle mod that I've thought about many times and never did. Turns out I tapped into a LOT of power that I haven't used since installing the STS .28. The truck would wheelie before but now it was crazy easy to do.

So if you're still running the stock spring loaded servo horn, this mod is simple and worth doing. All you need is 2 Ofna part #10721 linkage kits and one bolt/nut. I made due with one and on-hand parts. Not as pretty but effective :)

Not trying to say I found something new, this mod has been around a long time. I just haven't seen it mentioned for while and just throwing a reminder out there.

I personally havent had any issues with mine yet, but i know if it or.. when it goes bad ill probably do this idea. I noticed i myself and some others i know have encountered problems with this servo head mainly because if you tighten it, it just locks up so it acts weird. So i personally learned just to barely drive the screw in and it brakes and takes of great.

The upgrade looks more reliable than the stock servo head nonetheless.
