I'm new to the site an i have alot of questions that i hope can be answered, first i bought my rs4 nitro like 5 years ago an it looks like the newest just realeased except for the motor mine i beleive is a .12 rs ss or something i i was wanting to know the top speed of this year car it has a anodized purple heat sink on top an a 2 speed transmission which i think i messed up on install kuz i didn't have not a clue as to what i was doing an its shaft driven an all wheel drive does any know what i have??? it might be older than that maybe even 6 or 7 years old not a clue! oh an could i put the new .15 engine in it an how much for a new tranny if its messed up like i think?

Try and keep the language down to a PG rating, there are people on here that really dont want to see that ignorance posted in our forums. If you wana talk like that, feel free to post in the Free For All forum. Say whatever you want there. Personally my 13 year old brother looks on here for advice sometimes, and i really dont want him to have to read all that BS. Thanks..........

Welcome to RCNT. I would love to help you but that huge run on sentence above doesn't make much sense. Could you please you some punctuation and make an attempt at some grammar. I can tell you, most of the veterans have looked at this post andmoved right on because they can't understand what you're trying to say, and they're the ones that you really want advice from. We welcome you to the forum, and there is a wealth of knowledge to be had, and members willing to help. I'm not trying to be rude at all, but I could help you if I could read what you're trying to write, and so could a lot of other people.

I also have a tough time with your post. It feels like I'm in a crowded room and 10 people are asking me questions at the same time.

Alright I will admit i was in a huge hurry. Now I bought my car like 5 or 6 years ago. It was not ready to run I had to build it my self, Now saying that it was my first RC car ever. I think i messed up the tranny on build, not for sure tho, i had a police officer clock it at 35 mph the guy who sold it to me (at a hobby shop) told me it would go faster than that when i bought it. I'm just curious if it sounds like i messed up the tranny or not, an how much for a new one its a 2 speed i'm sure. With a .12 rsss motor. An sorry for the language folks.

ok so how fast will the new hpi .15 go? I want 55+ is this acheivable? I think i have a Rs4 but don't really know will the new .15 fit an hook up If i do?
 
Oh I found the engine its a .12r SS motor i know its an older motor with 1+hp
I just need to find the exact Kit an model i have It's a 1/10 scale RS4, with that motor, I need a new tranny i think, where would i find a price?


My model an kit may be a RS4 3 Type SS it has every thing mine has to a "T"
Edit: that is the kit i have mine even came with the firebird body

So does anyone know the top speed of this model (RS4 3 type SS) an maybe the cost of a new tranny preferably one already assembled? an could you swap the motor out for the newer .15 from HPI?
 
Top speed is vague at best. Manufacturers will always claim astounding speeds which are likely inflated. In the real world, it's not easy to get there. It depends on a lot of things. Engine. Gearing. Tires. And intangibles. Like humidity. Pressure. Altitude. Surface. Incline.
And tuning. Frankly, there are too many things involved to really narrow it down to just one thing. If you want a faster ride, then things to consider are a bigger engine, change gearing, 2-speed transmission and perhaps different sized tires.

For reference, I have an RS4-3 with the sluggish .15FE in it. However, I ported the sleeve and installed a 2-speed. And even with that, I max at 40 mph. Consider an .18 engine. But still, I think 55 mph will be tough.
 
okay mine came with the .12r ss an a two speed tranny so 38mph was prolly right ( a local cop clocked it for me)

Edit: Can you successfully swap out the .12r SS for the G3.0 (.18) nitro engine.
An are all RS4 3 2speed tranny's the same kuz if so i'm going to buy the one I found for 51 bucks shipped
