RC Driving Style
I was thinking of using twin vertigo performance quasi barke discs. Anyone use these?
 
I just got the hpi dual disc brakes, and dang they work good. I have them so loose i am afraid they mightfall off. When i stop on the street, it looks like i am going full speed and then jamming it into reverse. I dont think u can go wrong with any aftermarket dual disc

You still having trouble with your brakes bud? Why don't you snap a pic so we can take a look. Are you sure everything is installed correctly? Maybe your servo is shot.

I don't think twin vertigo disks are going to give much improvement over the dual disk set-up, IMHO.

Servo is a brand new hitec 625 mg. Its fine. I stripped out the one hole on the side of the tranny i going to try adjusting them if that doesn't work I'm going to try shimming them.

well if you're ever in the neighborhood I'm always up for a bash! You pay for your own ticket though lol...

Yeah post some pics of your linkages again, does the brake arm wire flex when you engage it? It will do that more than normal if your wire has alot of bends in it. I actually changed mine a couple days ago so that it has no sharp bends in it and still ends up hitting the throttle control arm preventing braking during throttle.

I posted a few of the old pictures in the "show me your savage" thread a couple days ago, but my Savage is in "test mode" right now, all the parts are half @ssed.

I'll snap a pic tonight, she is looking like a bride of frankenstein in her current condition, tore up and leaking fluids everywhere.
 
I'm using the HPI Dual Disk kit and I can get the thing to flip end over end. They work like crazy. :D
 
That's also the case for my savage and dual disks. Makes me wonder what the problem could be. I thought maybe the servo is weak but 645 should be plenty of juice.
 
I will play with it when my collari gets here on thursday. For now i have to fix the storm....
 
Ok here are some pics, the revision I have made is replaced the stock plastic piece on the brake arm and used a ball link instead. The ball link allows the tip of the arm to angle up and down slightly with the movement of the linkage. Now it is just one straight shot from the servo to the brake. You will have to put in a couple slight bends, maybe 1 or 2 degrees, directly in front and behind the linkage sliders so that everything moves smoothly.

I went with a straight shot this time for the brake because I noticed as time went by my brakes were getting weaker and weaker. I believe the metal rods were starting to fatigue at the bends from the constant flexing. I haven't had a chance to test this on the street but I think it will work. It did stop my savage from a test roll. I'll report more later this weekend when I get a chance to run it.
 
Mine was froze up from mud. Where it comes out of the trans case. Check that if ya still have problems.
