Hi folks

after much deliberation and a certain pandemic circulating I thought now would be a good time to maybe try and get my Kyosho Ultima RB up and running again I brought this new way back when in 2001/2002 & constantly used it, however after too many years of non use and house moves I neglected it and some of the original parts have fallen victim and cannot be found ??‍♂️ I have some parts on order to bring the old girl back from the grave.
I’ve been out of the picture for a while so wonder if there’s anyone out there who could help with a few things

1.Can the original body shell be sourced
2. The tyres and wheels could do with refreshing, are these still available or is there a better option
3. What % of fuel would be best to use to get the old GX-15 engine fired up and running

Appreciate any help on this and will update along the way

I would say torco 20 for fuel. I don't know much about the GX15 but torco seems to work well in all my engines. The tires look fine to be honest, some wear on the inside sides. As for the shell I have no idea. Hope this helps.

Hey cheers for the fuel recommendation ?? I’ll have a look at it. Yeah tyres still have life in them though there’s cracking on the sidewalls. The original body shells seem to non existent to buy, I did read on another post you can use stadium truck shells as an alternative. I’ll keeping plugging away at it and see what I can do to it. Cheers

Good luck on finding the parts. That wasn't a very common buggy. Fast and fun, but not common. A of of the parts and the shell are the same as the electric version. Also, I believe the ProX body will fit. Tires for your buggy are pretty standard. The rear wheels are the same as Associated, with the 12mm hex. The front wheels I am not sure of.

hiya. Yeah they are proving to be a challenge to find but I have found some of them and they’re on the way now ??The shell is the most difficult item to source though I think I may have found an unpainted one in Canada but I will take a look at the ProX as you say. Front tyres are still available on eBay. Ah cool good to know rear set are readily available. Looking forward to the parts arriving so I can grab some fuel and fire it up. Thanks for the help and advice ?.

Hi folks, quick update on progress. Parts arrived this week. Glow plug, battery pack, crystals, glow starter and fuel line, plus the air filter but I misread the description and ...... was the wrong size so had to order another D‘oh !!

In the mean time I have repainted the front & rear bumpers along with the battery pack case. And give the rims and clean and repaint so they are looking fresh again.

Still can’t find the original shell or the decals though so may need to locate the ProX sheel that AClegg suggested or if anyone knows anything similar to that. Ie stadium truck shells that would great

Well time to get back to work. Cheers guys will update on more soon ???
